uhm, does the complex fulleren count towards the body parts? I mean, if they only accept 1000 in one bulk, then this would mean, that there will be about 60 loads at all? and they wrote "selected body parts", so will they take my blood drops, too?^^

Yup, they obviously aim at getting people work together to get enough of them.
Will be quite tough to get so many so I imagine the rewards are great

Yet again, CCP has tended to the bigger corps giving them the advantage to aquire these jove parts. Bigger corps = more members = more parts... they already have an advantage over us all.

You need a thousand of the parts to give them over, or will they say they need stuff like 500 bones shards, 200 blood drops, and 300 fullerene? And once the demand's filled they'll ask for different ones

Good way of making sure this event and the reward (if any) goes to the big corps already in the game. All smaller corps and "freelancers" only got one way to go, trash the parts or sell it to the bigger corps so they can get the prize.. yay
Would anyone mind telling me how I can contact the jove, as I would like to hand the parts my corp have over to them myself, and not tough some small minded empire. 20,000 players all hoping their Jove Part will be the ones NEEDED to complete a 1000 - and hanging on for the billion isk payout. So who's making the book on how long the first 1000 to be handed in will take?

I read the news as thinking that the 1000 plus referred to a 'buy order' in that they would only buy them in bulk of 1000 or more but you could still turn them in one at a time?
The reason for this is that the article hints that the Jovians may also reward the 'corp' or 'pilots' that give in the 'most' - but a solo pilot achieving this is a little strange if its 1000 part blocks.. at 3 mil approx a piece, are you telling me some guy is investing 3 billion for this?
Also the whole buy in bulk thing sounds very unrealistic.. for an Empire to fill an order, a simple buy order is all they would need to set in the market for it to fill up just like that. A thousand stack only order would only make things take longer? We will find out tommorow, but surely its a buy order... -----

If they actually mean 1000 jove parts...this is a lame way to end this part.
Give the rest of us non-mega-corp/multi-billionairs a fair chance. You said they would be far from worthless, I don't really see how that is for us small-timers.

Is anyone organizing this effort on the part of the Caldari State? I've got my one Epidermis Sliver and one Complex Fullerine to donate to the Cause.
Don't know if an Eve census has even been taken, but based solely on reading the forums, I have a hunch the Caldari State could be the most populous of the four Empires (there do seem to be alot of Caldari about.. Or maybe just a few Caldari with really big mouths..)
If that is in fact the case, we may have the advantage here if we can just get the collection effort organized. time is the fire in which we burn. |

Your complex full won't be a part of this - its a part of his ship.. they are only collecting body parts. Still, if it really is turn in 1000 parts at a time, Im more than a little disappointed. If they intended the price of the parts to be lower and now see cerebral slice parts selling for around 10 mil, they should change their requirements for the market price that has been adopted...

Request clarification. Do the players have to mass together 1000 pieces of jove to sell to the empire of their choice or are the empires putting the orders up in 1000 at a time and letting players individually sell their parts to them?
Quote: There have even been rumors that the Jovians will reward those pilots or corporations most prominent in the collection process, though this has not been officially confirmed.
So people not in corps have to trust their jove body parts to another organisation and if they get the reward they should hope that they can get the benefit of it? Could be a bad idea in the long run as the little people get virtually nothing from this. Unless they give them a jove ship for every part collected and that corp or group of corps decide to do the honourable thing and give people their piece. ------

From the sounds of it, another event thats a waste to most of the player base. If you do need 1000 parts at once, guess what? it goes to all the corps again so dont waste your time event. ;) Sell to the highest bidder and take the free cash.

These will obviously be buy orders with the minimum amount of 1000 pieces....so no bother trying to sell 1 or 2 items to the empires.
Which means that only big corps will be capable of getting the "rewards" supposedly to be bestowed on the ones who sell the most...
Another bone thrown to the big alliances leaving us smaller peeps in the dust...
All we can do now is bring up the price and try to profit as much as possible from this, there will be no rewards other than ISK for small corps and freelancers....shame

Edited by: Drakxter on 17/05/2004 19:44:02 Your not the only one who finds this very strange, and stupid really.. If you really need 1000 items..
Unless we are going to find them in loot as well, then I see no chance of any of the small freelancers and small corps having ANY chance what so ever to get any reward. ------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

if it's 1000 of any item then you only need 500 players... minus the ones who've already managed to grab some...
how about giving them to eve radio or something... they can use the cash for prizes, or something...

Looks like I get to keep my pieces as a souvenir.

I think I'll come up with a few recipes for delectable dishes in the very best tradition of Gallente cuisine, for which such tasty morsels as the odd fried Jovian can provide would be the finishing touch.

Well the parts are scattered with some individuals holding larger numbers. Simply, if a large alliance wants to gain them now, make them pay through their nose. Does anyone want to make a loss? Of course not.
So with the average price of a part at 3 million before this (average knowing full well a cereb was the highest and the epid the lowest), if you raised prices to 5 million average, thats 5 billion isk for 1000 parts.
An alliance needs to produce 5 billion isk to take part in this event for an unknown isk reward as of yet, an even more unclear Empire award and Jovian award? Thats quite a commitment.
But simply prices can't go down since the sellers dont want to make a big loss on what 'they' paid and if the new buyers refuse to pay higher prices you have a very sweet stalemate. The sellers wont sell and will cling onto their parts even if they just sit in their hangers. And then the buyers simply wont be able to get enough parts. And thus no Empire gets a filled order. Joves will be very impressed ;) -----
