Well looking at latest news just goes to shove that CCP dont want small corps and Freelancers in this game. Now the latest one the Empires will only buy in bulk of a thousand parts at a time. So how do Freelancers and small corps gain any thing out of this then? We don't have the purchasing power to buy that many parts so what we will end up doing is selling to a large corp. They spend isk that then can easily afford we get a little out of it and they get Rewards that will proberly turn out to be worth more than the isk they spent.
Look at every thing else CCP does. PoS. Well its not gonna be small corps owning these is it? No. They will proberly turn out to be worth more than any small corp could ever get and will end up needing 24Hr protection which just isnt possible in a small corp is it. When u eventualy manage to over come the "Coming Soon" that CCP is famous for and you relese Titan and Player owned stations once again things that a small corp or freelancer could never hope to get.
Why not Give something for the little guy's in the game. I know all the idiots will proberly turn this into a flame fest. Proberly all they are good at.
And before you all turn round and say Well join a Bigger corp then. I and many other people dont want to be in Massive corps. What are you within a massive corp just another person that someone can order around or be told who you can and carnt be allys with. I like being in a small corp with a small group of friends and many otheer people do. Many people also Like freelancing. But it would be nice to have a outpost of our own. Then we can stake our claim in our own little bit of space. Its what i joined Eve for all those months ago. Promises of being able to own your own stations and so on. CCP havnt given us what they promised over a year ago now. Read the manual that comes with boxed version of game. Tells you all about Player owned stations. What it doesnt tell us is that CCP keep saying "Soon" and havnt relesed them and wont any time soon and when they are released you will have to be in a Mega corp to even have a hope of owning 1.
Thinking back to when i started there was pictures about showing the player owned stations being set up on chaos by a group of ppl. CCP still havnt released them over a year later.
CCP stop feeding us lies tell us when you are going to start releasing promised items. And dont give me all that "Coming Soon" And not just me but the rest of the Eve Community.
Also think of the little guys and gals instead of forcing us to be with Megacorps or miss out on half the game. Dont say your not doing this CCP cause u know its Bull.

I dont see how the Jove component news favours large corp. It does encourage interaction & teamwork between players, and considering Eve is a MMORPG thats what is suppose to happen

Edited by: worker on 17/05/2004 20:24:36 how does it encourage interaction between players. The Players with tons of isk and The mega corps simply buy all the body parts up. This encourages interaction? Well it might do if u count opening a trade window draging some items about and pressing accept it does.
Not called being a loner. Working freelance many ppl do it. I work in a corp of friends. We are only a small corp and thats how we like it. Many other ppl do the same.

Encourage interaction? Err, that warrants a one-word reply:
Bull****!
Interaction requires methods, tools and venues. And what this game has to offer in that regard doesn't even come close to what's required if you want to coordinate a collection of 1000 pieces outside of a major corporation.
Anyway, after more than a year in game, I have less than 50 people in my address book, 10 of whom I actually trust. That comes to 20 pieces, or 980 short. Interaction. My hairy ass.
Jovian Tribulations: The Non-Event Continues - first they announce a time and place for an event that wasn't planned to take place at all and wind up creating mayhem. Now this.
Methinks some people are fairly lacking in clues. Fairly? Nay, utterly, my good man, utterly.

Why don't you just refuse to sell your body pieces then and make a stand for the little man?
If you do that, can you do it quietly, too?

There have been serveral "trade good" type storyline events that a freelancer could do by himself (Transcranial Microprocessors for example).
Infact your missing the point.
This is event for roleplayers more than anything, i seriously doubt there will be much ISK to be made out of it.
Its setup to be a sprint to see what faction can get the most Jove bits together. Why? Cos the Jove will probably adopt them as their pet race until they get bored .

Edited by: worker on 17/05/2004 20:44:54 Pure and simply the only way to amass 1000 body parts its to buy them up. What small corp can afford to spend tons of isk buying up body parts? None so it boils down to being the Megacorps as the only ones that can do it. Hence Small corps and Freelancers are fu*ked. Well done CCP you have done it again. Goes to show they dont like small corps and Freelancers.
Even buying the body parts for 500K each thats 500million isk and the body parts sell for way over 500K each
And so Jove take the favord race as the pet race. Then what CCP promise some new Jove tech. Then slap a "coming soon" on it and not relese it for over a year?
CCP showing a trend yet?

I volunteer the Amarr dogs then, should make fine pets. Or the very obedient Caldari for the quiet homely Jovian.

Or we can stop complaining? Don't like it? Quit. I'm in a small corp, I don't mind it at all. It's part of choosing to be in a small corp. Deal with it.
This thread isn't even a debate thread for worker, it's a complaint thread. Go complain to someone who cares...

I said it in the other topic also, but alas:
Tell me one corp even having 200 accounts! (most big ones have around 150 chars, but that includes all the alts)
Even then they are short 800 pieces.
Probably not even a single alliance has 1000 accounts.
The event is a capitalistic dream, its massive, its not only multi, but myriad-player, and risky (consider a guy managing to aquire 800 parts, and then the event ends), thus VERY fitting for eve.
Id even say the idea is brilliant (lets see how they stage, it though ), but if you want to whine, some cheese maybe?

Too bad if this event is more for corp than little corp and freelancer.
This is not the only event.

Don't think that we are even half way through this jove story and already people complain.
Firstly dont complain halfway through, you don't know how it will end anyway!
Secondly its CCP's game and not yours, if you don't like it then quit!
Also when have you ever seen an event like this that people actually gain something from? Keep to your mining, that will get you more isk anyway

worker, instead of yust complaining that ccp doesent do anything for the little man, give some examples on what they could do for the little man? becouse both in the Real world as in eve, the big groups will always have a advantage over the smaller groups.
this jove story ark is even treatening everybady equal and still you complain. everybady got the same amount of parts, both people in the big alliances as the freelancers, the problem is that you look at the big alliances as one huge thing, and not as the sum of all the smaller players, and then it looks as if they got more than you, but in reality, every player in that alliance got yust as much as you got, so live with it, they can't make it any fairer.
and if you can do beter? then propose some inprovements instead of yust whining about it.
everybady can whine, but I only see ccp try somthing new (with this jove story).

So that's what those bone fragments are.....Was wondering who was the joker who put them in my hanger...
And no,i'm not wasting my time with that crap either...
As far as deployables go,we've still have yet to see if they'll be worth their likely considerable investment in both money and skills, not to mention the logistics involving it's operation and protection, especially in 0.0 space...
