Are we playing an MMO that is really employing us as the arbiters of a real space copmmunity at war?
That book reminds me of EVE big time.
Also the GAP quadrilogy with the Mining police, Angus Thermopyle and such haha!
Anyway just grooving to this awesome game. |

The Gap series is a pretty good analogy. By far and away the darkest sci-fi I've ever read. Basically nearly everyone turns out to be a near or total scumbag, so it works with Eve.
Ender's Game....not so much :) |

um one BIG problem between enders game and eve.....speed
we can go faster than light while ender cant (and we dont have those antimatter weapons that use mass in an AOE effect :) )

haha
there are definitely times when ill hear someone on the mic dishing out excellent tactical orders and showing leadership skills... and realize it's some 15 year old. when that happens i totally think enders game. |

I think he was comparing EVE to the actual "simulators" that Ender uses to train. Not the battle thingys but when he leads fleets.

This just in, pilots are coming out of their ships to play some weird strange new game recovered at eve gate. The artifact includes chips and a strange set of cards, it seems to be a game of some sort called... texas hold'em. |

Here's a link to the GAP series...probably the finest science fiction story I have ever read...and Iv'e read 100's. Also there are some striking similarities to the EVE universe.
