Edited by: Lexs on 18/05/2004 07:23:48 I have a feeling it will be the way CCP will introduce either Titans or jump drives into the game ___________________________________

Each of the empires each own about 3 titans, so technically they won't be "introduced".
And i think the jump-drive is skrewed atm. Look at what happened to the Jove who used it

Quote: The Jovians are still close-mouthed about what went wrong with the teleportation device that resulted in the sad demise of Banyia. What little they have revealed suggest that the failure was human rather technological in nature, strengthening the rumors suggesting that foul play was involved. Nevertheless, the Jovians are preparing to conduct further tests on their new device, though one can only hope the results will be less dramatic in the future.
That's from today's news - which suggests it wasn't a technological error, but perhaps a criminal act, which I'm sure will come into the storyline once again in the future. ___________________________________

MEthinks retro engineering is gonna be implemented soon, allowing people with 1000 parts to build their own instant jump drive module thing ;)
Well atleast it would be cool anyway :P ---------------------------

NO IT WILL ALMOsT DEFINATELY NOT BE JUMP DRIVES :)
Interbus as the last guy said is much more likely. Why would the jove be splattered into your Hanger due to a jump drive malfunction?
When instead interbus (or at least the idea behind it) is a station to station transportation system (IE more logically related to your hanger bay).
Heheh, jumps drives no.
Titans No.
Interbus probably.
More/better black market almost definately. :)

how bout +2 to all atributes for all members of that race though a lil jove tinkering
remember the bonus is going to be race specific and interbus isnt race specific and limit it to one race is kinda pointless since it would only work within thier empire
so my guess is a skill or atribute buff for the winning race

I have no idea what the reward will ultimately be, but I think the route that CCP is going with the structure of this 'quest' is all wrong.
Even at the low end of curent prices (~1 mil/part x 1000 parts = ~1 billion), only the mega corps wil be able to participate. So the rich get richer, the powerful get more powerful and all the rest of us are screwed. There is nothing in it for individual players and smaller corps other than perhaps some cash for selling them (which we will be relieved of + exhorbitant profits by the gouging of the mega corps that will eventually control whatever is introduced).
Unless there is some way for individuals to participate, I personally will hang on to my parts or delete them and never introduce them into the 'quest'
This whole set up doesn't stink. It reeks.

Exactly. Who has time to contribute to someone else getting a thousand parts at a time? I don't. We could sell our parts, but odds on that someone else is going to get the benefit.
Why couldn't we have donated these parts individually? We could still have had a scenario whereby the race that donates the most gets the benefit, but having such a massive minimum order means only the largest corps/alliances can participate. -- Security Director, Draconis Industries. |

If CCP has some sort of humour the reward will be a Jovian Shuttle BPO. |

It doesn't look to me as the mega corps will be favored in any way. They can like anybody else hand in their findings and get a bit of cash or deside not to. It's not likely the joves would ever favour a player run corp, at least not this time. ---------------- What's a rumor on page one is a fact on page two |

hehe one race will be favored though, since assuming that all created mains are evenly represented throughout the 4 empires would be a very stupid thing to do. I do So hope that ccp have used multiplier to even out the charcter population to 25% per race. Since the reward seems to be going to all players of a certain race atm.. ah well what am i whining about i have chars in all races. just a thought though.

While I doubt that CCP will be stupid enough to introduce a huge imbalance among the races (although from recent evidence I could be wrong), I am sure everyone knows how much I think this "1000 pieces" thing is completely unfair to any but the uber-powerful alliances, unless of course in their fear the devs have deleted my post from last night.

Its meant to to be a race thing, not a corp thing! I bet the sell prices are not as high as some of the prices players are buying at so I guess very little profit for anyone collecting. Corps are made up of all races unless you are in one of the RP race corps. So again there is little benifit to a corp collecting them.
Its meant to bring players of like race together to strive for a common goal. If you are so narrow minded that you think its all for the benifit of the individule then I suggest you look a little deeper.
On a side note its possibly been noticed but the percentage of each item is possibly in relation to the number of players of a certain race...eg. Galente 5% so they have the largest population Minmatar 25% a much smaller population. Just an observation.
