Not so much easier but more and interesting ways to get standings than there is now, overall more immersive missions even for those not in FW. Storylines that actually go someplace.
I'm thinking wheeling and dealing with agents in backroom meets to secure better standings with one corporation if you give up your support for another corporation. Swapping standings for yourself or your whole corporation to get a more finetuned organization.

The only thing to consider about this is that there are players who join FW to attack people in their own militia. The current counter to this is that every time they do, they get a hit to their faction standings, which leads to them being kicked out.
So I'd suggest making this increase so small compared to the friendly fire penalty that if you kill about 100 enemies for each FF incident then your equilibrium position will still not be high enough to keep you enlisted.
But the increase should be there so that if someone joins a corp to enter with low standings, then they will eventually get to the point where they are helping their corp maintain standings for other players.
On your other points
1 - Maybe give the standings gain to all factions opposed to that faction. Even 0.0 rats. That way players who screw over their standings with a faction can still grind their way back up and then work for them. However these would have to be small, otherwise we risk people doing this so they can join a militia and prey on its members.
Though another way round is that if you shoot a friendly militia member, then you can't get any standing increases from NPC or player kills for next week or two. If FF is still a problem, increase the time period. Other standings increases (promotions and storyline missions) would still work.
3 - So a pirate fills the slots, not to sell the items, but to keep their standings up so they can prey on friendly militia ? This could do bad things to the economy as a whole, unless the values were small enough to be meaningless.
4 - I'm not sure about this one.
5 - Given the number of people that made Achura for the stats, but don't want anything more to do with the Caldari, this skill would be useless for a large bunch of people. But as long as CCP considers friendly fire in FW when creating it, I don't have any objections.
