It has been a long discussion and brainstorming on the Caldari State Citizens channel to decide how we will be handling this event. We wanted it to be fair for all players yet still in the Caldari spirit, where money talks and one has to do what is ordered to do.
So we decided to do an ooc election, and this will be done with this thread. The elected character will then be considered as being nominated by the Chief Executive Panel, and in charge of recovering donations and Jove parts for the Caldari State, as State Head Salesclerk.
Since an election is time consuming and we don't want to lose time, we decided to create an Exceptional Temporary Council of 4 members, all of them being very different. We hope you will trust at least one of them for your donations, would they be isk or jove parts. The council members are : ManicMiner, Aerynth, Xrak and Jera. All the donations will be made public on a webpage made by Manicminer, the link can be found in the according Intergalactic Summit release.
In a week, the elected Caldari citizen will be our representant, in charge to sell all the jovian parts to the Caldari State. So the council members will hand him all the remaining donations funds and the gathered jovian parts.
We really want the Caldari State to get the Jove favour, if you want that too, do vote !

((Yeah, it was good to see the new Caldari channel buzzing last night.  pity i had to log after only about an hour or so, it was good fun. With any luck this level of participation and teamwork will be kept up and continue.))
Currently one nomination for State Head Salesclerk, Jera, and she has...4 votes. Oh, make that 5.

Agreed, Manic has already put in alot of work into the council and the idea of gathering the Jovian Pieces. He has not only been gathering the parts, but has gathered large sums of isk towards the cause and has helping in codifying the gathering mainframe and database. No matter who is appointed State Head Salesclerk, we have to recognise the actions of everyone with the ETC council and indeed, within the Caldari community, who is banding together for the State.

My question is what is the council going to do with the parts that are being collected by the other races. Are they going to sell/trade them to obtain the liver bile or with-hold them so the other races dont get the parts they need. Personally, I am in favor of the later.

There is also a simple FAQ about the cause at www.caldari.tk, this site also has a list of contributors to the cause.

I apologize to the other contenders, but I have no personal experience with any of you but Jera. It is perhaps a poor way to decide a ballot, but such is life. Perhaps in future elections there will be more time to meet candidates (whether declared or not). In the meantime, I can only vote for Jera. Make us proud, Jera!

Jovian parts are being collected for the good for the whole Caldari State. Donate or sell them in comm channel "Caldari State Citizens". Do your part for the Caldari State, Aid in the collection for everyone, yourself included! Check the progress and FAQ at www.caldari.tk (not ingame compatible).

To help prevent things like this happening again, we need the Jovian techniology the Directorates favour will bring. Starsi's revolutionary cure for Quafe´ne, Quafacetone and Quafetyd could be updated using Jovian Technology and cure millions more than it already has.
