I think specifically looking for relationships through the internet is weird per se, but this site is not weirder than any other comparable site out there.
Also if you're completely addicted to WoW, chances are, you can find somebody that can tolerate it better than the next person you can meet outside.

Eh, I don't know about that entirely. It's not like there's as many insecure teenagers playing EVE like WoW. The older player-base of EVE should prevent this - but I think we can all agree that hopefully I'm right and your wrong.
Even if something like that did happen - you can expect to see people forming suicide ganking corps to go around and jihad people who beg for ISK and strip-tease in stations for ISK. That is a promise.

I'm not too surprised, but it's a website that EVE doesn't have - I imagine the core reason why EVE doesn't have one yet is because we don't have that many dumb and desperate kids playing.
The channels we have, and chances are a lot of other games as large as EVE have, are what you could call "amateurs" in terms of how many failures and losers are playing this game. A full-blown dating site for the game, especially if its popular, is the crowning achievement of that.
Those channels are just the dark alleyways that mainstream EVE-O'ers ignore and think are pathetic, and rightfully so - a Website is what I'd be worried about - It would be a throbbing boil on the face of EVE that shouts out to the world: Hello world, we're losers who have to date over the internet, and we FAIL!

I think someone tried to start an eve dating service a couple of years back...and eve-dating.com redirects to EVE's main site, so unless that got set up since the thread got started someone out there with EVE related interests owns the URL.
