It's clear the bounty system is broken. The money placed on someone's head has to actually to harm, rather than give away free isk.
To fix this, I suggest that the Bounty ammount (or a portion thereof) be added to the next clone the pilot has to buy. That way, if the criminal gets a friend to pod them, the money gained is offset by their next clone purchase and doesn't make it into the criminal's wallet.
I'm sure other conditions would be added to prevent abuse, like only being allowed to place a bounty if the pilot has an agression timer or something else. But I think this would go a long way to butting the bite back into bounties.

that's ******ed, you get poded and then you have to pay the bounty to buy a new clone.

what do you think bounties are for? Bragging right?
Bounties are there for punishment. - Just like concord.

Bounties are there to encourage people to pod you.

There would have to be some limitations. I mentioned only being allowed to place bounties during an aggression timer. But in general, I think the mechanic is sound. I'm sure CCP could come up with something once they implement adding t he bounty price to clone price mechanic.

So you have WITHIN 15 MINUTES AND ONLY WITHIN 15 MINUTES to place a bounty? And who gets bounty ISK? the person who pods? How is that going to solve the pirate's podding them issue? If I understand your idea correctly, surely it'll just exacerbate the problem, with people wanting to get rid of their bounties ASAP before they build up....

There's obviously some misunderstanding here so I'll go slow, ok?
1. player A gets pirated/can flipped/whatever - and loses ship to player B 2. while player A is free to attack player B, player A places a bounty on player B 3. player B now has the amount of the bounty added to the cost of player Bs next clone. 4. Player C pods player B. If player C is friendly to player B, he gives the money to player B to cover the cost of the new clone. But if player C is not friendly to player B, player C keeps said bounty. Either way, player B doesn't make any ISK from podding himself.
Does that make sense?

I love it
step 1) Create Alt corp step 2) put your badass PvPer in it step 3) put jumpclones in the same system step 4) Put a 4 billion ISK bounty on his head. step 5) Log on, check for a station camp by war targets step 6) Jump clone to different station.
Sick of the bounty? Jumpclone out to god knows where, and pod yourself.

Ok
player A gets podded
Player A purchases new clone
Player C then gives money to player A
Player A profits
Player "pure ego" sucks at trolling the fourms and should therefore go play with him/herself while listening to Rick Astley's "never gonna give you up".

in general, I think the mechanic is sound.
Hmmm, that's a spectacular idea! So when some noob with a low sec status gets a 30mil bounty on head for can flipping the first few days in eve, despite that fact that the most expensive ship he's ever flown was a tech I frigate, he'll be pretty much clone less...
I know how you could use some already sound game mechanics to assure you get you money worth - get out of your hulk, into a real ship, and go rock his world yourself instead of begging god/mom/ccp to do it for you. I promise that that taste will be so sweet that you'll come and thank me.

Bounty Suggestion This suggestion will make the bounty systems infinitely better:
1) Add to MirrorGod's bounty 2) That's it, you win at the bounty system

Mmmmh *eyes off Mirror's sec-status*
You know all up I have no idea how much ISK I've placed on bounties; I'll tell ya this though I figure most of em still have it. I don't really see any 100mil bounties going up on folk anymore so maybe it is broken. Anyway placing bounties to 'punish' is kinda funny... when a friend gets naughty boom bounty. No more afkies for them
Its a novelty, makes me giggle and is better off that way.

i'd suggest a bounty to be not only tight to a player but also to a clone that player was in when bounty was placed.
i understand it wouldn't solve all the problems but at least it would spice things up a bit. let's say it happens to happen somebody places a bounty on your head while you are in your ex*****ve snaked/slaved/whatever up clone. now you can't just JC, pod or get friendy poded, collect the cash. the bounty would stay until your 'marked' clone would get popped.
word.

i don't know any pirate who wishes to cash his bounty..surely, sometimes you have to do it, when you're out of cash. For this dumb proposal: kk, i'll put some 2-3b bounty on your head, and pod you=) What? you can't play your char anu more? oops Afrer a month or so, there'll be no one in 0.0 with lo ss. And 4-5 times less pvp in lo/high sec. Go to LA2 or Wow, if you want to be a careber
