Subtle Romance is recruiting. Actually, we're mainly looking for fun-loving players who are looking to learn the refined art of piracy. My goal for this corp is to create a well-rounded group of pirates, every one of which has been trained in the art by either me or one of the directors (of course, I will always help train in some way as piracy is a constant lesson).
Requirements:
-Willingness to PvP
-Ability to follow instruction
-No SP minimum
Benefits:
-Patient, one-on-one instruction in PvP and its many nuances
-0% tax rate
-No requirements other than listed above.
If you would like to learn to dance the floor of low sec, please feel free to drop off an app in Kulelen (Zainou Biotech) or Deven. If need be, I can open offices elsewhere.

I guess it's somewhat counter-intuitive to be looking for rookie pilots when statistics show that you pretty much have to be a year old to even KNOW about the forums... But whatever. Still open!

Just to be clear: you don't have to be a pirate all the time in this corp. I myself run missions on occasion, and if you want to mine that's your prerogative. Still, I request that members join in on roaming gangs from time to time. The best teacher is experience.

So, last night I joined Subtle Romance and Vivien schooled me a little to see what I know thus far. I learned how to effectively use the scanner quickly. After that,we flew around systems looking for targets, and we got a destroyer kill within 15 minutes. I'm glad I joined this corp,Vivien is extremely patient and explains things in a simple manner.

Okay, so I'm interested! I've had a little PvP experience but I'd like to learn more in greater depth.
I guess my only concern is, is the training really as thorough as advertized?

I (The CEO--Vivien's Main) have been playing for three years and PvPing for 2.5 of them. I've flown every non-capital, non-Black ops ship extensively. If you have any questions--any at all--I'm confident I can answer them.
That said, much of PvP comes from experience; I can tell you to beware non-webbed blasterboats that start matching your speed and forcing your orbit pattern to provide you next to no angular velocity, but you won't really assimilate that info until you've been in that situation a couple of times.
The real learning happens when flying small gangs, as they are easier to keep from dying and still let you become comfortable with your ship.
Here's the thing: I have nothing better to do in this game. I've done basically everything. I'm currently training up capitals just so I CAN have done everything.
Bottom line: I enjoy teaching. And if it turns out that you're unsatisfied with the depth, then you can always find a different corp. It sucks to see members leave, but I'm not delusional enough to think that it won't happen.

I myself am in Mountain time (or -7 GMT). We've got a few other -7 GMT members, plus a couple -6 GMT and even more -8 GMT. Basically all north-american at the moment.

Well I'm definitely interested for my main character. I will apply once I can take care of all the junk I have at my current corp's 0.0 station. I'll sell what I can and move the rest by this weekend. I'm so tired of large-scale laggy fleet ops. Time for some small corp gang fights.
BTW, what is your connection with Crimson Flag? One of your sigs has a link to their recruiting thread??

I started Crimson Flag several months ago, but was forced to take a break due to financial reasons. When I got back, Crimson Flag had fallen apart, so I started this corp. It's basically the same idea, just a different name. Also, thanks for pointing that out. I totally forgot about my sig...
