When I'm in my mining barge I'm always fending off Sansha vesels with my drones. I mine up in Empire, so they're pretty weak, but they still last for awhile since I've only got the mid-level mining barge and my drone skills are only at 3 for the moment.
What are the best types of drones to use against Sansha Nation ships just to get rid of them quicker? Thoughts, oppinions?

Well the EM drones are just terrible. They have the lowest by far of all the damage mods. Its better to use the Gallente Drones, or Thermal, Hobgoblins, Hammerheads, and Ogres respectively.

Sansha ships are weakest to EM damage I believe with thermal their second weakest resist, so Acolyte (light) and Infiltrator (medium) drones are probably your best choice. Although Thermal Drones (hobgoblins and hammerheads) may also be a good choice (not 100% on damage output).
Once you can use T2 drones though the thermal damage drones (Hobgoblin II and Hammerhead II) end up the better choice due to their much higher damage output compared to their EM counterparts.

To be honest there are very few cases where EM drones are better than thermal. Sansha's have almost as bad Thermal resists as EM, and the damage increase thermal drones provide is worth it. Get Hobgoblins, Hammerheads, and Ogres.

I think Sansha has:
50% EM resistance
60% Thermal resistance
As for the drones:
EM drones: x1.3 dmg multiplier
Thermal drones: x1.6 dmg multiplier
I think that's about right, and I use Thermal drones against Sansha/blood works the best

Resists are rat dependand so no set number across the board
Use thermal for all sanshas except loyals. Unfortunately some loyals have insane thermal and EM drones eat them much faster, but as ure in empire thats prolly not the case.
P.S. But in practice use whatever u like. Yeah thermal are better for general use on Sansha but EM isnt crap for them either. Same goes for bloodies.
