The trinity engine graphics are a big improvement from the previous versions but something is still lacking in the graphics department. I was hoping the graphics engine would show damage to ships when in closeup. It would be great to see armor getting blown off or autocannons cutting holes in the hull of your target or watch your ship being healed as the armor is repaired.
I still think the current engine gives some of the best explosions in games I have seen but it would be really good to have some more niceties to enhance the realism. As for audio I think rats should give smacktalk-that would be funny.

Edited by: Fennicus on 08/07/2008 11:58:32 The latter would get really annoying once you'd heard all the lines for the 500th time.
Unless CCP allowed people to upload their own smack-talk, reviewed them, and had a massive, constantly changing database to choose from. (Think YouTube-style-streaming, rather than big databases and even bigger patches containing all the audio files.)
But this is the wrong forum to suggest such things :)

One of the long standing gripes from drone users is that their primary weapon can easily be destroyed. I think it's been mentioned a number of times that turrets and launchers should also take damage. Would be nice to see turrets getting blown off.

No, drones cant be jammed or evil stuff like that, so they can be sdestroyed (well they can be jammed but I don't think they give a damn)
I had a few spider drones go after my hammerheads before and they started scramming/webbing my drones :/
Before we get damage models, I want a sound update.

This would be nice, also too be able too see when a hole is being repaired in your armor slowly by the nano machines.
But I don't think this will happen for a long time/Ever happen in EvE.
This would require some really really heavy Physics calculations and you'd need a top high-end computer. Today not many games can even support the PhysX/Havoc (physic calculators that works without decreasing actual performance), and I don't think it will happen to EVE ever tbh. Spider drones are not player-controllable drones, but NPCs, and are thus irrelevant from the point of view of balancing player weapon destructability. ---- WTB Armor Nerf Hardener II, 10^100 isk OBO |
