Edited by: Karl Vandersill on 10/07/2008 01:05:11 IMO CCP should create a currency exchange site where people can buy and sell isk. People are gonna buy/sell anyways, so CCP might as well get a cut of the action through a surcharge on each sale. This method allows players to trade securely by offering support for trades completed through the service (removes scamming), allows CCP to increase income, and makes ISK seller spam disappear (after all why would anyone go to a third party website when they can buy/sell through CCP).
People can complain about RMT as much as they want, but they will never change the fact that it happens (a lot) and thus legitimizing the practice will have insignificant effect on existing or future gameplay. It's a win win win scenario for everyone involved.
So yeah, I'll throw on the flamesuit now, cause I know "everyone" hates RMT even though the market for it is so huge that there's no possible way the vast majority of players can be against it. :)

CCP already get a cut. They get 100% of the money when you buy a GTC to sell for ISK.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |
