I have just bought a vexor as it seems ideal for me to have a go at mining in 0.0. I have found some belts from looking in my pod. I can get this character and my second account character inside 0.0 and will have the 2nd character in indy at a safe spot. No flames plz  but when i warp to a suitable belt do i just mwd up mine and do a runner to the safe spot with ore then rinse and repeat ? If any ninja miners could shed some light on how it is done best it would be greatly appreciated cos not really sure as you can see but wanna have some more fun when mining and start taking some risks. Also any essential mods for the mid and low slots....

I used to solo ninja mine in a Vexor.
Hi: 2 M2's, 2 Xecls
Mid: small, shield, 10 mn mwd, cap recharger 2
Low: 4 named expanders (I had 4 27% so cargo was 1200 m3)
This held like 65 bist if i remember. Mine, warp to safe spot with 6 giant secure cans. Dump, and repeat. Then come back with your indi (2 loads) to the safe spot and haul back at your convience. That is around 6 refines of bist which is not bad ISK (and NO splitting!).
With a friend hauling or slightly more risky is 4 M2's (thorax is better with 5)jettison into a can. When done have the indi haul, but rats in 0.0 are attracted to indies so slightly more dangerous.
bookmarks are the key. make them everywhere so you dont loose time approaching objects. Everyminute is 20 bist with 5/4 and 4 m2's

Thanks for your help. As a trial run i mined some hedbergite and hemorphite about 3 jumps into 0.0. This went well with no real trouble from rats and made quite a nice sum of isk. I am now looking to get some more lucrative ores like bistot, To find bistot do i need to explore much deeper into 0.0 ?

Just a couple questions on ninja mining with a Vexor(I've never ninja mined before so please be patient with me). In fact, I'm not 100% sure on the exact definition of & procedures for ninja mining. Can someone enlighten me please? I have a Vexor plus some M2's & would like to try to solo mine rare ores in 0.0 to make some isk.(I have mining lvl 4 & astrogeology lvl 4).
Do you use drones with the Vexor and if so, what kind(do you use mining drones or do you deploy combat drones to protect yourself or do you just skip the drones altogether)?
Should you mount a warp core stabilizer or 2 or just stick with cargo expanders when solo ninja mining with a Vexor?
Basically, do you just mine & drop at your safespot secure containers & then warp out asap when rats appear?

So, u can mine, ur fast, ur recharge siant horrible, and ur fast enough to run away from the big bosses before they scramble you

When you ninja mine....are you runing away from npc's or other players? I thougth the trouble with 0.0 was other players, and not rats. I've only been as far as 0.3

Well, NPCs are pretty nasty in 0.0 space, and actual players are an added problem, but while you may be lucky and avoid players, or even not see any, you definitely will see rats when mining in 0.0, and if you're not careful (i.e. run away when they're in your vicinity), they'll rip you to shreds.

from personal experience(i ninja mine almost everyday in a vexor hitting Bistot/Crokite/Spod)
HI: 4x Miner II
MID: MWD/Med Shield Booster/Survey Scanner
LOW: CPU's and however many named xpanders you can fit
(1) with good evasive maneuvering skill/reaction time you wont need any nanofibers(always point in the direction of your escape route)
(2) survey scanner is a must! DO NOT pop the rare roids! take them down to 1000 or so and let them regrow..
(3) park your ship at a moon, eject, take your pod to the belts and bookmark 2 roids in each belt(npc's will not shoot your pod)..
(4) when you start mining pick a roid on the other side of the belt you can double click and warp to if npc's warp in before you are full(aim your ship, and even maybe fly at 1/3-1/2 speed)
(5) dont waste slots on cap rechargers as your hold will be full in 2-3 shots from your lasers..
(6) if mining in a system with a station make an insta dock bookmark..
(7) if mining in a system without a station drop it in a can at a moon/safespot(remember cans only last 1, maybe 2 hours so secure cans might be needed)..
(8) if you warp into a belt and rats are accross the belt but out of range, prepare to warp because they WILL warp to you..
