I have been training for a Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters (Microwarp) for days and finally I was able to use it today only to find out that I CANT USE IT IN DEADSPACES!!
There is nothing in the item description that says something about that!! Why didn't CCP include that important info in the description of the items?? I mean, how could I know that there is a obscured rule that wouldn't allow to use the item in a deadspace!!??
And yes, I am whining...

Because listing every module's limits would need another column in the database?
You can't use module X if Y is present or Z is activated while M is in warp but only if A is located in Jita while G is logged off.

"obscure"?
it's pretty widely known that use can't use MWD in deadspace...
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

You can't warp any distance within a deadspace, what made you think you could do microjumps? Parrots, commence!

Edited by: Daftex Muleson on 09/07/2008 13:29:53 I always wondered why you are able to initiate a warp OUT of deadspace. If you try and warp to a bookmark in a plex, you arrive at the warp gate entry by default if memory serves. So, why the hell can you warp out? Seems something of an inconsistency if you ask me....not that I'm really complaining as having to steam back to a jump gate to get out of a plex would be a bit annoying

Because your warp drives are unable to lock onto an object within the deadspace (as the natural phenomena disrupt it). The initial warp gate is actually outside of the deadspace pocket proper (which is relevant to probing people out who are waiting on that gate), which is why you are able to warp to the beacon there - and chances are they create the beacon so as to "collect" any attempts to anchor onto something within the pocket.
Anyway, that's why there's absolutely no interference with warping out - because deadspace doesn't inhibit the actual warp tunnel creation itself, it inhibits the warp drive locking onto something inside it.

You rock, Gartel!!
I always personally wodnered about the fine-point mechanics with that, because it always seemed at first glance that deadspace interfered with creation of the warp bubble, not the ability to lock in your destination.
Although... that sort of does make it less clear as to why MWD's don't work when you really think about it, because, if I'm not mistaken, don't MWD's not operate on the same mechanics as proper warping? As in, you don't technically need to "lock on" to your final destination, beacuse you can change it on the fly?
Anyways, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to pick you apart or anything. I'm just curious. And it'll help the op understand why it doesn't work... as well as me, because I like knowing these details. :)

I'm pretty sure that it's stated on multiple texts that deadspace pockets does'nt allow MWDs since I remember already knowing it some day after I started playing.
OP must simply not be paying enough attention to things. ---
