Large guns only hit larger things well. for instance don't try and shoot a frig with large Autocannons or Artillery because the chance of hitting them is rather small. If that's not the problem, training Motion Prediction, fitting tracking enhancers or tracking computers can help the guns track their targets better. Also, a targetpainter can increase the target's signature radius to the point where your large guns have less trouble hitting them.

Signature Resolution = Tracking
The fact that medium projectiles have a signature resolution of 125m verses large projectiles having 400m, means that medium projectiles have 3.2x better tracking.
And if that isn't enough, the base tracking attibute on large turret is also 2.4x lower than medium turrets.
So in actuality, medium projectile turrets have 7.8x better tracking than large projectile turrets.
If you move up to larger turrets, you will need to better manage tracking, no matter what size of target you are shooting at.

You need to train your gunnery skills.
Once you break the 5 mil Skill Point barrier (or so), large turrets become MUCH more effective.
Get your gunnery support skills all to IV or V and you will blast things easily.

I think I would be right in saying sig resolution doesnt = tracking at all. For example I've noticed that if a ship is heading for me in a streight line then my guns tend to hit it quite easily wheras if something is orbiting me then my guns then have to tradck the target to a much greater extent which is were tracking comes into play. www.faceparty.com/twisted_wayz |

It's because you're using artillery. Don't.

ty for the reply's. I like projectiles because i'm kinda lazy i think. No need for ammoswapping unless i wanna do more damage. Reckon with my current skills it'snot to bright to use them. will try other methods of killing.
