Yes a great lot of people out there are too trusting and no you aren't missing anything. People tend to perceive others as more like an extension of themselves. You have trouble believing how this guy could trust you just like that because in his place you would have definitely judged differently. And he clearly had trouble comprehending that if he gives a lot of ISK to a new face in corp he might end up being robbed because he himself would never go for such an opportunity.
EVE is a rather realistic mmorpg and it tricks people who play it into extending their real life definitions of morals and ethics to the game. Most people in real life are averse to scamming and theft, so they play the same in game. As long as they encounter others like themselves, which is most of the time because they are in majority, they are fine. Occasionally they encounter someone like you and end up getting tricked.
These people also do not understand how you can keep game and real life totally separate and say that EVE is just a game and no moral values exist in it. Because they play the game with a totally different mindset - they play it is an extension of real life. So if you pick the role of scammer or corp thief in this virtual role playing game be ready for them to come down on you with their lectures on morality so they can show how they are morally superior to you.
And yes, part of EVE being such a great game is that it gives you ways to earn good money without having to go through a huge grind yourself.

hehe never thught anyone who actually think to answer that bit, but yes i know exactly what yuo mean.
i never set myself out to be a scammer, and upto that point had played 'moraly'.
i have never been one to trust people in the game quickly at least, because of the annonymity of the game/internet.
lets hope he has better forture in RL :s

I got the 10B from that, 10B in 3 days...nice. Even if it is 1B, that's lol worthy enough. --

If you think screwing over relationships is worth 1bill isk then thats all i need to know about you.
Your small change, and you will allways be so... your reputation is your most important comodity and the contacts you make are your life line... 1bill is nothing at all, you could have made it honestly in a few days if you were not so dumb.
Well i hope you enjoy the quick fix... and the next time you screw someone for small paper.. and the next time. "LOL@The person who did it" well.. yeah you can lol at him for trusting you, but the sad thing is he wont do it again for another person, and while you may think thats soft or something... look at the #1 alliance in the game, at the very core its built on trust. Now go look at the other top 5 or so alliance's...
Do you notice something? And this is why people like you will allways be small frys. __________________________________________ - Tempest Kane, Band Of Brothers.

Obviously a CEO shouldn't be letting a new member ferry the bulk of the corp assets without collateral. I mean it might have helped if he'd put the stuff up on courier contract so the OP couldn't see what the contents were (you still can't see courier package contents, right? I haven't messed around with them in a LONG time), but really he should have required collateral.

No it dosent matter if you did this with your main
No you wont have to reroll a new char
No it wont effect joining 99% of any future corps (people have short memorys and lots dont bother with proper background checks)
No it wont be hard to gain anyones trust again
Yes it WAS worth it
sure a bil or 2 aint that hard get but fact is its FREE isk so of course it was worth it (how can FREE not be) it was near effortless so screw what anyone else on their high horse says, congrats and enjoy it
And all thats from PERSONAL experience, anyone else here saying it wasnt worth it has no personal experience (people who think it aint worth it obviously never did it) so really who do you trust more :P

All true and I have no way to track you in game from here. You can be a shit head in Eve. I can't, the thought of someone out there slumped over his KB with that cold pain in his gut bothers me too much. Maybe if I play Eve long enough, I can develop that sociopathic mindset.. |

Some people start a game and think "Here I am, playing a game. Thus my time is worthless, since nothing in the game exists. Anything I achieve is of no value either."
Others, however, value their time, no matter how it is spent. -------------------------------------------------- I'm a rich person. How I know? I can afford to be a miner. |

Thats absolutely right!
If I choose to spend about 6 hours per day on eve, tell the wife to go watch a movie whenever Va aka The Regulators mount up to bring death and destruction to the unsuspecting, I value my time.
Now, Id even go as far as "Gimme 20 Billion ISK and an address" and Ill take care of the little punk, if he lives within 6 hours driving distance. Would that be against CCP's EULA?
lolz I think the EULA needs an ammendment. "Thou shall not break kneecaps of ISK greedy kids in RL".
EDIT I'd document it with pictures of course, god I love my blackberry

Good haul, mate. Congrats, and don't listen to the gnomes saying your name is irrepairably tainted. Only a fraction of Eve's players read the forums, and those that do have the memory span of goldfish.
