PTtur (CCP) started off by saying that the CSM should come up with solutions if the existing rules do not work, and write a guide for the next CSM how problems were overcome. It will be allowed for the chairman to stand down, and as a side note, PTtur (CCP) noted that changes will be made to the way alternates are handled under the current system, so that their participation does not count as a term.
Andrew (CSM Jade Constantine) wished to have the chairman role electable, as he believed that all the roles should be agreed on by the majority of the council.
Sean (CSM Darius JOHNSON) said that he had no problem with the current way the chairman is elected, but rather with the roles and responsibilities assigned to the chairman.
CCP also indicated that there were concerns with the continuity of the CSM, and would like a system put in place where the next CSM can easily pick up where the previous one left off. Knowledge and experience would need to be passed on and everything would need to be properly documented. Current CSM members should advise the next CSM.
Eva (CSM Ankhesentapemkah) expressed concern with the lack of a proper medium to record knowledge and urged for a CSM forum, subversion or wiki to be set up as soon as possible to contain and preserve all information, and make it easy for the next CSM to continue running projects.

I'm still annoyed that this one had to go this far. Jade should have stepped down on day 1 and re-run, and used precedent to keep his successors in line. The issue being brought doesn't bother me, to change the rules and put harder limits on the position, but it being relevant does. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

I suggest, as a solution to the continuity problem, that the CSM elect one of their members to automatically return next time, as a means of passing information and solutions. Of course you will probably want to make a rule that this person cannot hold any of the higher CSM positions, to keep it truly democratic.
Seems like a good idea to me. Natas

So does this mean that Jade has agreed to immediately step down and face re-election? That was one of his promises immediately after election, that if CCP approved it at the iceland meeting he would step down as chair to re-election.

once those types step dpwn they can not re apply, because this will give other participants with ideas to implament rather then the same dominent direction from the same relected member. Unless there is not too many participants comeing is to take on the same challenges then where is this topic headed ?
