Since the beginning of the week I've been unable to logon to Tranquility. I get through login, character selection, then the client stays up for about 15 seconds -- then crash, no error.
Have raised a petition, no response from anyone for days. Is this other people are experiencing? The only thing I can think of is i recently upgraded to 10.5.4.

Have you tried logging in and out? I believe (but could be wrong) that this behavior is (currently) due to old instances of wineserver not quitting properly (you can use Activity Monitor to look for them).
I'm on 10.5.4 and have not experienced this yet. |

I have had the same problem recently. It not only affects EVE but other software too. I tried to start Photoshop when EVE would crash over and over after signing in. Photoshop gave me a warning saying not enough memory to start the program, this has never happened before. I logged out and back in, the problem when away.
A few hours later, tried EVE again, no problems. Played for several hours, put the computer to sleep. The next day I tried EVE again, and the problem of crashing reappeared. Logged out of the computer and back in again and haven't tried it since.
I am currently playing on my PC notebook since I use my Mac Desktop for design work and would prefer not to have any problems with my home office desktop.

Im am getting problems with my mac client crashing. Usually what happens is I play for a little, around an hour or two, and then the client crashes. I restart and can play for about ten minutes before a crash. I uninstalled and reinstalled and that fixed it for about a day, before I started getting crashes again. This was the day before and after the 10.5.4 update, so I don't think that that has something to do with it. I get nothing weird ingame, just random crashes and no crash message from OSX. It seems completely random to me, and I have been monitoring my system usage and core temps, and see no pattern when it crashes. If anyone knows what to do, It would be helpful.

I am running Leopard on a Mac Book Pro, and I also have a similar issue. My eve client will crash out at random times, with no error message or other programs affected that I have noticed. This is quite frequent during client start up and login procedures, but once I get into the game I am usually able to play for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours without any problems, before a random crash happens again. Session changes do not seem to be linked to the crashes, but the loss of drones is getting expensive.

I have this problem a lot, and it's caused by my internet dropping. Restarting my DSL modem usually fixes it. I dunno if this is why yours crashes... but it has the same symptoms :/

In my case, it has nothing to do with my internet connection or DSL modem because I can use my Vista notebook and never have a crash using the same connection.

Having the same issue here, just began yesterday. Continuing today. I can be on for about 30 seconds or so and suddenly my client disappears. No crash error/dialogue, it simply turns off.
Very odd. My internet connection is solid, the fastest I've ever had tbh.
Curious if this is an isolated thing or if others are experiencing this as well.

Am getting this behaviour since this morning. Start eve, login, select char, and then about 30seconds later back to the desktop. Console log: 27/07/2008 19:55:21 cider[1418] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Error (1000) creating CGSWindow'
going to raise this to CCP....

Posted a bug report to CCP, rebooted and it "seems" to be working fine now - or at least better. Typical, report something that happens ALL the time, then you reboot and the problem goes away :P
Well, it is a bug if it happens again after a while... Will keep you posted

Having the same problem. It occurs after the machine has been running a while, a reboot clears it up but it will crash a (short) arbitrary time after starting the client up. Sometimes before I can even get logged in, but never more than 10-15 seconds after.

This happens to me every day. I have to reboot my machine to fix it. Sometimes however my character will be bugged as a result of this problem and I won't be able to log on him at all from that machine even after a reboot (I can log on my other characters without problems.) In those cases I have to log on my PC, drag my sorry characters butt to some station and log out. Once I've done that then I can log on that character again on my Mac.
