Does anybody really do this?
I can see ship assembly arrays being somewhat useful, but they are by no means vastly superior to manufacturing in a station. All you get is a little time bonus, but only 3 slots for the large one.
Small assembly array = 90mill. 10 slots being used in a station 24/7 all month long = less than 3mill in monthly fees.
Efficient equipment assembly arrays are just a joke unless you really specialize, and the rapid ones are even more of a joke. 1 structure for 1 slot???
Ammunition and drones are better, I guess.
So what do people that manufacture do? Just use your POS for research and perform manufacturing at nearby stations? Play the Celeste Lottery! |

In 0.0 alot of areas have a limited number of factory slots available, at much higher prices. So the small/medium arrays are usually used there.
The Large one can be used for capital ship assembly, so sometimes people use it for the time multiplier. Efficient and Rapid arrays as well as ammo/drone are 'usually' used for T2 BPO owners in highsec, and occasionally in 0.0 Sometimes an inventor might use an ammo/drone array in highsec to get more build throughput.
Advanced arrays are typically used for T2 BPO owners.
Most arrays are used in 0.0 only pretty much.
Personally I think the equipment and component arrays need quite a buff.

Rapid arrays are really good for module inventors; the time saving is especially significant when using BPCs that have negative PL. Only minerals are affected by the 1.2 material multiplier, so it adds virtually nothing to the build costs. Zzz research towers Direrie NEW: Liekuri

We use a couple of ammo assemblies, it is worth the pain of hauling the minerals to the tower in exchange for a day off the manufacutring time of a full run.
