Hi ,
I am a new miner and am currently training up to the top end lv1 mining barge and I was wondering whate people would recomend as a solo mining barge set up with no hauler at the mo ( my corp mates are not always online at the same time as me )?
I am willing to train up for Tech 2 drones and Items but was hoping if anyone has found an over all good set up or has any help on what skills to train ?
Cheers for any help in advance

The barges don't really work well for hold mining (the hulk at exhumer 4 excels at it)
One option is secure canisters (but only holds 5 cycles of ore per canister) set up in a pattern 5km from each other so you can move between them (may have to change targets) and fill them in sequence before filling the hold and warping to get your industrial to come pick up the ore.
Simply using cargo expander IIs the retriever can hold 5 cycles, a covetor can hold 6 cycles (using t1 strips)
Neither can really mount much of a tank, maybe a shield extender or a civilian shield booster (hence why most are T1 fitted)

I'd recommend to what the above poster said, but swap the mining drones for a flight of t2 light drones to deal with the easy to kill frigate npc spawns. And get the Racial Indy of choice so you can haul on your own.

Just in case you have not experienced first hand the pains of jet can mining: do not engage someone that swipes your ore! They want you to shoot at them with your 5 drones.
It won't work out well for you.
Maybe you already know, but if not this is a heads up.

i disagree, jetcanning is a fantastic way to go, most of those noob can flippers are easily taken down by your drones. it's also real effective and speeds up the mining process, allowing you to dump a huge amount of ore quickly then come back and grab it. just my advice

Simple Fix really, just get more active members in your corp :P
