I know this subject may cause many varried Opinions and Outburts, but what the hay........
I feel that there should be some limiting feature applied to Office slots similar to those that seem to be used on Factory slots, i.e. If the Corporate Hangers of the corp that is renting an Office Slot goes Unused for a specific period of time, the Office space should be made again Open to the Public for renting and the Contents of the Hangers be Transfered to the Renters personal Hanger and their Last rent refunded.
One of my Main Reasons for bringing this up is I have visited many stations with factories, seeing only 2 or 3 Factory slots rented and no Office Space available, thus making it harder to have Corps without an office there to conduct any kind of Productions there with the use of a Common Hanger to deposit minerals and ores for the productions.
With that said, I am sure a few people out there will flame me, but I am sure there are many who would agree as well.

More office space means that more hangars on a station can be used for corporate use. Since corps will usually fill out a hangar quite nicely, this is a more efficient use of a station's resources.
So yes, we should have more office space, on an equal footing with factory and research slots.
However for those who simply want a common hangar and do not need to rent factories or labs at the station, perhaps a new kind of corp-hangar enabler could be added. A small cubicle - a quartermaster's office say - that is basically there to deal with what goes on in the hangars and no more.
Furthermore, if an office is located at a station where the corp is not using the research or factory slots, it can be downgraded to a QM's office.

I think yours is a great idea . I am pretty sure that many corps rented offices at stations with labs and/or factories where they do ont rent the factory (actually i did it for my corp as we wanted an office in Essence but didn't had use of a factory there).

Edited by: Nicolina Robs on 23/05/2004 13:23:10 Well for my case for example, we have one HQ and we dont need to have multi assests on various systems. I rent officies where we mine just to have a common space to stack ore. So that "new-kind" of officies sounds to be a great idea.
EDIT: our factories and lab are in HQ and we already got what we need

Yeah it's usually convenient to rent factories and labs in the region of places where you will want to sell your finished goods, and relatively close to places where you can get the raw materials. Then you just have a bunch of haulers moving the stuff out to where it's needed.
At first small corps only really need a single place to do research and build things. This is not unlike the localised NPC corps who have just a few settled systems.
On the other hand, they may want to mine a different place each day of the week. Keeps things interesting. So offices at the good refineries near good 'roid belts are in heavy demand. Once you have it refined it's much easier to ship it back to your factory or to sell on the market.

If your corp wants to mine for everything (from tritanium to isogen), then you need to go in different regions, so you need more corp hangars with recycling at least. Factories and labs are useful too of course.
Personally I open corp hangars at my agent station regardless of what is in the station (for the multiple hangars of course), so even for a single player corp like mines this makes me use a lot of hangars^^.
