Edited by: Quetl on 14/07/2008 18:01:28 My bad, thought I had already set show corp/alliance.
Anyways... Trying to learn about the big war, BoB v South + North.
Can someone tell me the start date and 'end' date - preferably link to some territory maps as thats what i'm looking for mainly, bit lost on inet trying to find it all.
Just wanting to see how big BoB was before and after really. Found some maps, but I thought BoB was bigger than they showed.
edit: also wanting to look at the progress of Goon cause the maps I saw goon was tiny, or has goons territory dominance been fairly recent?

BoB grew quite a bit since the war began because they recruited a lot of their pets. Most of the pet corps or alliance folded up when BoB was stripped of most of their regions and forced to turtle up and hide in Delve. |

Funny.
"goons will never be allowed to hold 0.0 space" or something to that effect.

TWD can probably give you the approximate start date.
End date is unknown - for obvious reasons.

BoB invaded Goonswarm in Scalding Pass and then proceeded to not lose Delve, thus making them the victors.

Except for the fact that it's incredibly inaccurate. I thought LV got involved against RA far before January 2007, as an example.

Interesting map.
From my personal memories I remember..
- Fountain Alliance gets rid of buffer zone pet alliances (StA, CFS, etc). Shinra & Co wreak havoc against FA in Delve and Period Basis (vs FA and Period Basis Legion, etc) and move onto somewhere else (to form "the Five" with some ex-CA). Shortly after BoB makes a move onto Delve.
- Also once MASS splited the Stain Empire into SE and Stain Alliance and started the civil war in stain, soon the SA forces have splitted into POS, FS etc, while SE has moved to the core Stain region to fight the remenants of SA. This opened a great opportunity for ASCN to take on the industrial alliances in Paragon Soul and Esoteria. Since ASCN was now spread over a too large region BoB has made quick use of this and took out ASCN swiftly.
- I was in LV when all that Red Alliance had left was a single system and station, Goons joined in the scene and helped RA take back some space. When the tired LV forces had kept the pressure off on the enemy, RA managed to force Veritas Immortalis into a retreat and persuaded LV's allies TCF to switch sides.
- BoB and RA/GOON/TCF meet in old ASCN regions...
I find it really interesting how intrigues and wars in distant regions in EVE effect politics, tactics and wars in your own alliance. Also this points out to a degree of "globalism" in EVE IMO, since the first 2 years of 0.0 conflicts and politics were pretty much limited to neigbour regions only.

Well BoB maganed to get loads of nerd-rage and everyone that wasent + to bob set out to killed them and failed misserbly. Now same guys stroke their e-peen when bobs comes and is fighting outnumberd, while samtimes try to poke that BoB has huge bluelist
Some people should get perspective that they have around 80% naped when it comes to it, 10% is bob and last 10% well we just enjoy to have fun

You probably meant KOS, TCF has never been on LV's side.
The great war basically began with Bob's decision to back up LV, and ended when the Coalition lost interest in taking Delve, and went to deal with other matters. ------------------------------------------

You can start checking the maps from winter 2006. Most hostilities originate from that time.
Goonswarm was not liked by BOB, they pushed them into empire, GS than had talks with the RedAlliance and went that way. BOB had the "Tick Tock" campaign going, you can search for a thread by Molle.
I think BOB had: Fountain, Delve, Querios + that thing south which I don't know the name, where MC was, plus all of former ASCN space.
GS and RA moved into getting space, some alliances lost their space, Lotka Voltera (hope name is correct) and BOB went blue, but GS and RA pushed everyone out all the way to Delve. Some of the space was abandoned with no fights over it.
The north attacked Fountain and tried to move into Delve. MC moved over north and gave them some hard time, than came back home.
North reformed but was busy with Triumvirate and friends.
MC switched sides, moved over BOB who were fighting GS and RA. Sorry, I forgot TCF which was with GS and RA. Correct is TCF,GS,RA. The form in which MC moved over BOB was as a new alliance, together with some other good pvp corps.
BOB managed to push them back, MC somehow disbanded, GS side stopped the attacks as BOB were more motivated to defend space. Also I believe the NPC stations were a big factor.
I hope for all the parts involved I did not do any injustices. If I did please correct me, my memory is not at lvl5.
Anyway, look at the maps, they tell a good part of the story, while rest of it only those involved can tell.

Yeah ur right, my mistake.
BTW whats the deal with NPC stations (Blood raider?) in delve while BoB was defending the region?

The dates are simple. Feb 10, 2007 ("Chow, we're stealing your targets") to May 16, 2008 (beginning of the Geminate campaign). Pre-war posturing and whatnot is arguable, but Bob fleets appeared in LV space on the date given (and D2 popped up in Fountain that day).
