So I don't know anything about GMs besides they are there to help, are they really playing the game, or is it just they are in the chat? And if they really are playing the game, doesn't that mean we (regular EVEers) attack them?
Now I want to clarify that I have no intention on attacking a GM.
Would attacking a GM be BANable or anything like that?
I'm just curious about how much power we, the players, really have.

Edited by: Matalino on 14/07/2008 20:37:58 GM's and Dev's play the game just the same as regular players. Their in-game identities are generally kept confidencial. As such there is no problem with interacting with them just like regular players. Odds are high that you won't even know that they are CCP employees.
GM's and Dev's also have their official characters: the ones that you see with the CCP or GM title. You will rarely see them in-game. But if you do, you should follow whatever instructions they give and generally avoid interfering with them. The only reason they are in-game with their work characters is because they are working on something, not playing.
If you have reason to believe that a GM or Dev is using their work account inappropreately you should pass your concerns on to CCP either via the regular petition channel or via the interal affairs department.

GM's are as far as i know not on TQ nor on SiSi bu they reply to your petitions.. but there are other people such as ISD's BH's CCP ( a fair amount of ccp staff ) on SISI and TQ on tq if someone such as a BH ISD or CCP warps to a FFA area you can shoot them but they have max'ed out skills most of the time so normally you get your but kicked. but on TQ they all live down in jove where we can't get so no need to be worrying about attacking them on there

GMs and other CCP employees have access to special ("Jovian") ships which have extremely high resists (99%) and which usually cannot be locked; so they cannot be killed. I don't think attacking them is bannable, though interfering with their work or ignoring their instructions probably are not the smartest things to.
They also play the game as regular players, but they'll hide the fact that they're a CCP employee so you never if you are attacking one

So that means that they are the "unplayable" race? Also isn't it theoretically possible to fly to Jove, just not using a warp drive? Just get the faster ship out there and slowly fly the whatever year journey there. Or is Jove non-existant on the map?

He is refering to this ship, which is used by GM's and Dev's when they need to do something in-game that requires them to fly a ship.
Notice the 99.9% shield resistances and 3 sec recharge time, which makes it effectively indestuctable. Also notice that it does not have any slots to fit anything.
It is not a proper ship, in that it has no game play use. It is simply a tool used for administering the game.
There is also a region of space that is labelled as Jovian soverenty. However, it is unaccessible without a GM/Dev teleporting you there as there are no gates linking it to the rest of the universe.
That area is used for test on the live server and for special events such as the alliance tourements.

yes, the Devs tend to play as the jove unplayable race, as they are supposed to be the ultra high tech race it doesnt look out of palce when they arrive in their frigate that has 99% resists, thousands of shields and a 2 second recharge time. :)
They use them when they want to be visible, but dont want to be destroyed, they have appeared in high lag situations in the past monitoring the server with their dev tools
The jove systems exist, there used to be an exploit using a clone jump to get to the systems, but there is nothing there apart from in a few select systems which are used by the devs. They dont have warpable to gates, so ucant really go anywhere. You cant just fly to them, as the system is on a different server for all intents and purposes. Someone using a warp exploit got into a jove system on the map, but was still showing in the system they started in -----------------------------------------------

They aren't really playing as Jove, since they don't have Jove avatars. They just use Jove ships.
You can theoretically get to the location of another solar system without using a stargate. But that system wouldn't load, so you wouldn't be able to interact with it. You probably wouldn't even see any planets or stations either. Even if they should be there. It's just a side effect of how the game is implemented.

Just to clarify, and pretty much sumarize what's already been said by the people above.
We do play the game, however never on our GM/dev characters/accounts. When playing we have a normal player account with no extra's compared to anyone else.
If we need to be in game for something job related you'll find us in a Polaris legatus frigate, which can not be locked, and as such it's not possible to attack us (Yes I know smartbombs, but the resists on the frigate pretty much make that pointless)

I wouldn't mind having a BPO of that ship -------- Bender: Ahhh, what an awful dream. Ones and zeroes everywhere... and I thought I saw a two. Fry: Don't worry, Bender: there's no such thing as two. |

I am sorry I did not know or poster because im french then I puts here. C' is right to know if would be possible to give the mission " Piratre Slaughter" in survey because I believe to include/understand qu' it was to replace by Angel Extravagenza. Then I would like to know if c' is possible to reinstate Slaughter without removing another mission. Because it was really brilliant with its spoils and its repop and especially its " structure" of mission. |

due to the resists on the frig, it will take an alpha of 17,499,999 damage to kill it, all delivered at exactly the same time, even varying by half a second will cause the shields to regen too much. That's 250 max skilled titan pilots, and all the titans are the same type (avatars for highest base resist) the titans will all die in doing so.
