Ok, there have been some things about the game that are killing my role play and frankly don't make any sense in the universe.
1. NPC pirates can come and blast the heck outta ya. Destroy your ship and leave you in a pod and Concord does nothing. Accidently set off a smartbomb on someone drones and Concord warps in and blast the heck outta ya.
2. NPC pirates attack mercilessly and continuously terrorizing all that they encounter. But you can dock at their station headquarters, have a nice glass of tea and catch a flick at the next station movie showing.
3. NPC pirate agent missions will boost your standings with that pirate faction. Making you worthy in their eyes. Yet go out to an ore field and they'll still try to blast you to bits, despite a great sec rating with them.
There's gotta be some way of reconciling these things . It kills my role-play.

Edited by: Myko on 23/05/2004 17:58:46 1.) All 'legal' ships manufactured and bought in empire space have a CONCORD tracking module that alert CONCORD to the status of your ship within empire space.
2) Station services are a large source of income for NPC pirates, since they dont mine and dont pick up loot. Also, they understand that people docking provide a source of food etc., and it gives them an opportunity to install surveillance equipment on your ship...
3) Pirates are notorious for guarding 'their' areas. All players wishing to mine in those areas should contact the director at the head of the pirate corp. Unfortunatley to protect themselves it is a very rare occurance to get an audience.
Of course this is all completely made-up. CCP are not prepared to have players mining without risk (they have stated this in a CSM), hence the way NPC pirates react. RP it any way you want...

Thanks, your second suggestion if cool, but the first and third are still a little too weak for me comfort. But I see that your probably better at finding reconciliation with these things than I am. Much appreciated.

About NPC p¯rates attacking you in asteroid fields regardless of your faction, you can see it as if you were going in a military restricted area. For example, near the launcher Ariane, they shout without asking questions. But you can go in Kourou as tourist, visit the space center and meet friendly people and all^^.

what i meant was all player constructed ships, i.e. not the custom pirate ships (*reveals his ultra-carebear roots )

Edited by: Ebedar on 24/05/2004 01:11:20 Tea drunk from a glass is quite typical in several West Asian/North African countries. Usually with no milk and lots of sugar.
