I am a caldari pilot currently training up my torpedo skills. i pve mostly but pvp ocasionally and i have yet to see a mission where the ranges were longer then what i could hit with javalin torpedos. I am training up to torpedos V and i should be done by the end of this month. i was wondering if their is any reason to train cruise missiles from what i can tell their is no situation where i would be better off using cruise missiles as oposed to torpedos and i would be better spent using the 25 days it would take me to train upcruise missiles on either geting BS V Cruiser V or starting to train my Hybrid Turret skills.

As far as PvP is concerned, Cruise missiles aren't great at all. The SP would be far better invested in BS 5 in my opinion.
Max out your range skills for best results with torps though. (In Raven, Caldari BS is a range skill, of course)
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

i Knew Cruise missiles are useless for pvp but im also failing to see how they are useful for pve if i am able to supply myself with Javelin Missiles

What level do you have the following skills at:
Guided Missile Precision
Missile Bombardment
Missile Projection
Target Navigation Prediction
Warhead Upgrades
I would suggest taking all of these to at least 4 before I went down another route that may or may not help much. Depending upon your isk situation you will most likely need to decide if you are going to fly a Raven forever, or go for a Golem. If you are going for the Golem, train all the support skills needed first, then BS V. Just my thoughts.

Is it my poor English, or non of the repliers actually replied to the question? :)
If you have good range skills and range of javelins is enough for the missions you use - well, good for you! There are missions with long ranges or NPCs that slowly approach and orbit you at 50 km or something, so torp raven may be in disadvantage.
Plus, raven-missioners tend to get lazy very fast, and consider it a blasphemy to move the ship at all other than align to warpout or sloboat to next gate. Or, they dont have T2 torps.

If Jav torps give you all the range you want, then just use those, as per the advice I already gave you.

If you have a cost effective supply of Javelins and your skills get you the range you need then there is no real advantage to cruise missiles since the primary drawback of torps is the range.

do you fly anything in pvp other than BS? Manticore's perform well with T2 Cruise missiles...so I've heard...
