I'm doing loads of mining at the moment. When jump in the badger and go collect from my containers, I make about 200k - 250k with scordite. I'm saving up for cruiser, so it's taking a little while .. but I'll get there.
Anyway.. I was keeping an eye on the help channel and someone mentioned that training up "instant recall" (memory) is a must if you're doing a lot of mining. So I thought what the hell and trained it up to level 3 .. and now it's going up to 4.
Could someone explain exactly why memory is good for mining and what effect it has? I'm assuming that certain mining-related skills rely a great deal on memory, but I don't know which skills these are or what kind of an effect extra memory will have. Will this mean I bring back more ore, or I'll mine faster, or maybe that I'll get more minerals from refining?
Any information greatly appreciated =)

Raisning your atributes (memmory for example) will only affect the trainingtime for skills, nothing else.
If you chose "show info" of a skill it will list what attributes are used when training it.
Skills related to mining are: - Mining (obviously, more ore per miningcykle of lasers) - Astrogeology (requires Mining lvl 4, more ore per miningcykle of lasers) - Miningdrone operations (if you use miningdrones, more ore per miningcykle of drones)
For refining the ore the following skills comes in handy: - Refining (less wastage when refining anything) - Refining efficency (less wastage when refining anything) - The "Procesing" skills for each ore-type (less wastage when refining the ore the skill is for) |

Cool. Thanks for the info! I think once my Instal Recall is up to 4, I'll get my Mining skill up to 4 and then move onto the others you listed. Finally .. apart from ships, I have a proper direction for my skills! =) Grey things don't exist |

My advice: Train up ALL your attribute skills to at least L3 (all the Learning skills)! Having those trained up, helps reduce the Training times of all other skills.... Corp Chief Engineer |

And start with the ones raising the atributes needed to train the learning skills (Inteligence and Memmory?)... |

Train Memory, Intelligence and Learning to 3 (better to 4) first, then do perception, willpower and charisma. Getting the first three will be the longest time, the rest will be easier. Charisma is the least used of all of the attributes, and really only raise it if you are training Socials and Leadership skills.
It will take about a week or so to get you learning skills to 4, but in the long run it is really a time saver. If you are not planning on staying with EvE for over a couple months, level 3 would be sufficent.
