I know a lot of people who play EVE are probably around the same age group as me, and I'm sure also a lot of you watched this awesome 80's cartoon (My personal favorite). Anyway...I was doing some general browsing, and fell upon this guy Shuki Levy (www.shukilevy.com), anyway turns out he wrote most of the 80's cartoon intros, including M.A.S.K.
So, seeing that he wrote my favorite 80's cartoon theme of all time i thought i'd listen to it again since I was on his site, turns out there was a whole second verse I never even knew existed.....It's amazing when things like this turn up.
I thought i'd share this with all you 80's kids that enjoyed this cartoon as much as me:

We actually brought up M.A.S.K. not too long ago in a open thread after one of the mods hit us with Dino-riders. Man I miss those toys. Wonder if I can find them anywhere (not someplace like E-bay)

Not all of it is complete ofcourse, but these toys have been out of production for some time now.

I'm with you there. Got the notice at the top that it required the QT plugin and promptly hit the close button. I don't want that crap with all it's advertising and IPod music downloads junk on my PC. I don't own an IPod so why would I want the software to download music for it?

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 17/07/2008 20:00:54 Running a slightly older pre-iTunes version here, pretty sure they are still downloadable somewhere. Just don't let it auto-update, because then it will download iTunes.

Not really no, but M.A.S.K, Ring Raiders, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Mysterious Cities of Gold, C.O.P.S, Samurai Pizza Cats and Inspector Gadget definitely were my favourites back then. (although I saw most of these in the early 90s, since I'm not from the US and kids channels are notoriously greedy)

I have been trying to remember the name of this show for a while now. It was totally my favourite of the 90's cartoons. And because the toys were not released where I was, I ended up replicating the vehicles in Lego. Including the awesome sailing-ship starship...more spaceships need sails again imho.
As an aside, I also ended up building most of the M.A.S.K. vehicles out of Lego. Kind of amazing how one can reverse engineer functionality from a taped US television commercial.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors was probably my second favorite cartoon, that intro was badass.
*sigh* they just don't make cartoons like they used to back in the 80's i pity todays youth. :( "In Missiles We Trust" |
