Hi,
So I've just been banned for macro use, it's somewhat frustrating as I have never used any kind of bot.
I don't really understand how I can be banned for something I haven't done, how can I prove to CCP I've never cheated.
What I do use is the sentry drone mechanics to my advantage.
I'm worried that if I keep on making isk the same way I'll end up with a perma ban for doing nothing other than use the tools CCP gave us in game.
To be honest I feel kinda miffed with CCP, I have petitioned and explained how I earn my isk in detail but as yet I have had no reply.

I think I know what you were doing, and it does look like bot-like behaviour to anyone passing by and seeing you there all day every day.
But if I'm right, it should be really simple for the GM to look at the logs and see that once your Domi was set up, no keys were being struck, and no mouse being clicked, and thus no macro being used and no EULA being violated.
Big stuff-up on their part, but I've always found the GMs to be quite reasonable in my dealings with them, so good luck with your petitions.

The correct methodology when you come up with some new ISK-gathering idea that might - at first glance - seem to skate quite close to the edge in some ways is to petition a GM to ask if it's legitimate before you do it. If the GM says "yeah that's fine", then go ahead and do whatever sentry-drone shennanigans you've invented. At worst, you'll later be asked to stop doing it. |

Probably sitting AFK in Otomainen Contested Guristas Outrider Post and using macro to loot/salvage or any other automatic actions.
It's nice to see that CCP bans those shameless COSMOS afk-farmers. |
