I think this would be a great feature. At the moment ALT's in a single account have free reign to do anything withought reprecussions to the main char. Just a simple Piccilo is related to Scapegoat and Oliccip would be nice, that would allow people to identify alts for enemy corps scouting, ppl posting sheer abuse and crap on the forums, and a tonne of other things.
In a persistant world reputation is a major factor- why should ppl be able to avoid damaging their own reputation by use of a ALT?

I love this idea. People using Alts to scout on enemies is damn annoying. ---------------------------

i suggested a surname style option once, but there are alot of people who want to be kept anonymous, people who get named on eve-I or something suddenly get alot of back attention, would be nice if there was a way around tho, (maybe you can apply to have a surname different for an alt if you get alot of attention)

Okay, but how about when two *different* people use a different character one one account? Aside from the fact both can't train skills nor play simultaneously, if one player is a pirate, and the other and angel, why should the actions of one reflect on the other? There's no solution to that problem that wouldn't hamper the genuine use for which it is aimed. But as with anything, players will find the way to make the most of a particular feature, and having a throwaway character to spy or scout is just such a thing. But don't worry, you can do it too.

I doubt anyone is actually doing that. Only 1 Player can log onto the account at once. The first one gets booted if the 2nd logs on. And only one of them would actually be able to train skills. ---------------------------

Not a bad idea...it would help stop being ganked by people`s anonymous alts....(or at least you`d know the true culprit) Corp Chief Engineer |

You may not share your Account with anyone, or allow anyone other than you personally (or your minor child, if you have registered an Account on behalf of your minor child) to access or use your Account. Joint or shared ownership or use of an Account by more than one user is prohibited.
So you can't do that anyway. As far as I know, CCP hasn't banned anyone for this, but they could if they suddenly felt like it.
Personally I think they should get rid of alts totally. ---------------------------------------------
