Has anyone experienced a problem after scanning at maximum range and having EVE crash to desktop every time? it does seem to be dependant on the size of the system I am in, but I figure this should not happen at all. Also my ranged scanners seem to be stuck on 90 degree angle, according to the map witht he little angle white lines. Over all the scanner is very frustrating to me and buggy, this porbably the reason why I have not used it much until now.
Any help would be most appreciated. (Comp. P4, 1 gig ram, Radeon 9800 Pro)

Im sorry i dont know why your map is making you ctd as i have never seen this before.
About the white lines and the f11 map they will always show as being at 90¦. The angle slider on the map works however just not in conjunction with the f11 map. The directional scan can be a little tricky sometimes you need to jiggle the camera a bit and rescan to get it to work. Use your ship as the center reference of your camera and aim using that.
Hope you get everything working cause the scanner is a fun little thing to play with for awile.

Thank for the info on the angled radar. At least that is a releif knowing it is not goofed up.
My direction radar keeps causing a ctd when I am in a "big" system scanning at the maximum range (27 Au's or whatever). This is quite a bummer, because I was getting quite ampted at becoming an EVE explorer searching out hidden stuff, expecially after Shiva.
I take it no other explorers have experienced this problem? Maybe it is a client side problem, not sur ehwta it could be though.

I think I have narrowed it down to a router problem. Let me run this schenario by you people and see if I am on the right track. A fellow miner came to the same system I was having dificulties scanning at full. They were able to it no problem. They're connected to the internet via a T1 university line. I on the other hand have a high speed DSL with a Netgear router inbetween. I noticed that once I set my ranged scanner to max 27 AU's or whatever, there is alot of activity on my router then it ceases and I loose my connection. I was incorrect to saw that I crash to desk top, only 2 error boxes show up once the main EVE window collapses and it is to tell me I have lost my connection. My friend's search lasts only a few seconds and he know everything within range.
I would like any help with setting up my router to not interfere with my EVE experience. I am going to check all my software and firmware to make sure everything is up to date (I am sure it is, but I will check jst to make sure). If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be most grateful.
