Originally by: Akov Stohs The op is trying to infer Goons have been launching attacks against TeamSpeak servers.
Yes they do.
They did this to the RoadKill/SMASH server. The solution was for the admin to ban the whole IP range of the attacking pc's IP. The admin tried to ban just the IP but the attacker switched instantaneously to another IP.
So if you suddenly find someone connecting and disconnecting to your server over and over again the Goons have attacked and just outright ban the whole IP and be done with it.
If they have spies then they know your password and will attempt to bring your communications down at the best time to inflict the most losses on your ships. It has nothing to do with whether TS is better or worse then other programs.
I decided that the answer needs to be upfront in it's own post so other alliances that are attacked by the Goons will know what to do about these attacks.

Yes because Goons are the only people in EVE who think RK/Smash are sh*t, and therefore are obviously the only people who had any interest in seeing the clowns over there fall.

You must be clinically insane to spout this idiocy in print for other people to read.
What you mean is you decided to slander a group, without proper proof, and post several lines of utter and total unfounded bullsh*t....

1. They are not goons form in game.
2. They are hackers who hacks Team Server knowns as goons.net
3.No one in goons will hack ts they send a Spy in your corp but newer hack the ts.

Perhaps i can spell it out for you since you failed to grasp the concept of my post.
JUST because it happened when you were fighting Goon, doesn't mean it WAS Goon, could have been anybody out of the thousands of EVE players who think your are sh*t, that decided to help out Goon in their own way by attacking your TS during the fleet fight.
Sometimes, being a big enough piece of sh*t, can result in the entire cluster wanting you flushed, so don't assume it was a Goon, could've been anybody...anybody that didn't like you at all, and had the notice of the fleet op, and the ability to commit the time to making you miserable.

Since you felt this required a whole new thread, I'll repeat myself here and make you look stupid in both places.
So what you're saying is that SE/c0ven/ATLAS whoever are too cheap to pony up for a real TS server? What did you think would happen when you pile 200+ people onto a free TS host? Or maybe you're saying that the SE/c0ven/ATLAS Teamspeak server admin is too stupid to anticipate heavy load and adjust broadcast bitrates to accommodate said load? Read > Comprehend > Post. You're a colossal idiot. Nobody compared TS to other programs - I'm talking about the quality of the server you host it on. Or did you think some magical Internet Fairy connected all your voices together? In the true spirit of EVE-O forums idiocy, "Proof or STFU."

All that proves is that your corp was riddled with spies and someone socially engineered their way into TeamSpeak CA/SA rights. "Hacking" is not the same as "being a sucker."

RK/Smash should probably look internally considering how many of your members were bitter as hell and giving me accounts hand over fist to your TS.
When your TS was attacked I had a slight superiority in system and like 4 people in your gang and ts that were feeding me intel. There was no reason for me or anyone in the leadership who was aware of what was going on to try to stop you from doing something stupid so we could kill your fleet if you ever left your POS.
It's possible it was a random goon, as just about anyone who wanted a registered account on your server could get one with the insane amount of SA's you guys had. But it's just as likely to be anyone else who doesn't like you, or even just some random 14 year old playing with a new script who stumbled across a big vulnerable ts server.

This is what really happened:
You trusted too many people, and gave too many people SA. One (or more) was a spy. That person created this 'unknown admin' through completely normal methods.
Again, why waste the effort of brute force hacking someone's password when you know they're dumb enough to just give it to you?

first off our ts wasn't hacked, so to speak, we just had about 10 accounts rapidly joining and leaving the server, and with the bouncing that all the channels did, it was hard to actually join the right channel by clicking.
The odds of some group just randomly doing this at the exact time that a fleet fight is going on on said ts is pretty unlikely, seeing as the previous 20 months had been attack-free.
The one time this happened that i was online for, btw, we held the field and killed more ships.
then two hours later someone decided it would be cool to bring 10 or so carriers to camp the gate with 20+ hostile dreads in system.

Translation: yes, it probably was a Goon who hacked your server, but it's your fault....
What a pathetic justification - it's like saying "Sorry, shopkeeper, it's not my fault I stole from you - it's your fault for having a shop". Perhaps they could have been more secure voice comms, but it's the despicable metagaming and griefing from you player base that is to 'blame'. Get a decent excuse next time.

I'm so glad you came to the party. :) Seriously though, even guys that were there are admitting they weren't "hacked". That word gets kicked around a lot here but again, giving out SA to a spy is hardly the same thing as being hacked. It may be semantics to you, but it's the truth. To further your analogy, maybe the shopkeeper should try closing and locking his doors and not hiring ex-convicts. Yes, I just compared my compatriots to ex-convicts.

The hacking took place just as RK/Smash fleet warped into a huge furball of a fight with the Goons... as in Goonswarm.
You can believe in coincidences if you want. I'll let the Eve community come to their own conclusions.
