I just wondering! when you guys running an IPO! do you sometimes just feel like giving up and pack up? Or some times doing it on your own just seem to be a bit heavy?
If so what keeps you going?
Just I end up with new players but from other game and now Feels like I busy as hell training and supporting them as well trying to get on with my IPO lol
So sometime I just feel like meh too much kicking off here!
Just wondering and No I WILL not stop my IPO project! but I was just thinking about it and thought and see what you guys think or do.

Yes. I feel a genuine responsibility to investors though. These people have spent plenty of thier own time getting together isk and they've trusted me with it.
If I really felt like giving up I would at least pay back all my investors. (and no, I'm not actually running an IPO right now. ) --------------------------------------

Incidentally this is why any future public ventures from me will involve multiple partners working together. Misery loves company

Since starting my bond I am acutely aware of the possibility of burnout, there have been days when I've been 'meh' and not felt much like actively making money. I think my obligation to my investors makes me do more on those days than I likely would have done if it was only my own money. Although I think this is relative as even on those days I've still made far more isk than I need.
Maestro you raise a good point, in that I believe that the way to go in future is more collective work - single man tradegrinding is all very well, but after a while its akin to mining. Mining is more fun(!) when you do it as a group operation, and I think thats the way to go trading wise.
Maybe we will see more trader collectives in future? Akita T's newbie class may pave the way for this (which is one of the main reasons I signed up for it)

I've seen it happen too many times on this board. Someone's got a great IPO idea, it takes off, does well for a few months, then they burn out because it was too much for them. I've been running a highly successful IPO since January with no signs of slowing down and the secret is getting good people who you can trust to help you out. Including myself, my operation now has 6 people working directly for it, along with several more subcontractors doing ancillary activities for us. Splitting up the workload is the only way to make these things sustainable, otherwise its just too much work and anyone will burn out eventually.

Yer I agree!! Tho with me I been doing good but I can stick though the issues in RL most of the time and get it done. Tho This months because got some members in and my plan in time when they learn a lot more to do things in EVE to make cash. I have them helping me but its been draining me alot recently.
Tho I be honest My IPO turn out not big this month I dont think because I been busy in RL and doing alot of mission with the guys! I will provide income but on my terms!
Tho from this weekend I be on corp stuff and other sort them self out :P

I know how you feel...I actually haven't started my IPO, just in the brainstorming phases of it and it's already starting to pile on...between seeking advice and interested investors and managing people I can trust to sign on and help, it's starting to add up. But I have to say the only thing that keeps driving me is the urge to make myself, and obviously any future investors, as much money as I can...lol
