It's the same problem what we have with EMMA, the refID value is to big for int32. Maybe there is a workaround here: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1248114

Hmm, so I guess EWA would need to start using ULongs or Decimals. I see that Hel O'Ween edited the OP just a week back so maybe we can hope for a quick fix?
I can take a look at the source since it's available, but I'm not a VB expert... ______________________

Lost Hamster is right. Wallet journal's refID exceeded the (signed) long integer range. Unfortunately VB Classic doesn't proved a larger integer value. So I'm most likely need to resort some kind of float data type.
Anyhow, expect a fix early next week. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

A new version 1.3.8 and a database update is out (you need to apply them both). This fixes the above mentioned issue.
Also, a new feature "sneaked" in: estimate sales tax and broker fees on wallet transactions.

Edited by: Felton Fundenberger on 11/01/2010 16:36:07 Edited by: Felton Fundenberger on 11/01/2010 16:34:29 After upgrade to 1.3.8(db and .exe) i seem to have problem with wallet journal. even if i have selected all wallets and all everything else. it only shows marks from 1004 wallet. And if i try to set dates, it wont use them, just resets to dates that was there originally.
Any idea what i am doing wrong?
EDIT: seems if i put date 1.1.2010 to 11.1.2010 if shows correct values, from all wallets. But if i use 10.1.2010 to 11.1.2010 it only shows stuff my corp has sold. EDIT2: up to 8.1.2010 date values are correct and all wallets showing. from 9.1 to today. only market transactions are shown.
And HUGE thanks for you.

Thanks for the really quick update. Apologies for bothering you again but I seem to have a problem with updating the DB (first time I really tried tbh).
I installed the 1.38 exe file, then used check for updates. EWA informed me that I need to upgrade DB, clicked yes on overwrite .rar file and then the client crashes. It seems to go into an infinite loop and I have to close EWA with task manager (tried this several times). OS is Windows XP Pro (32 bit).
Also tried to find a manual install of the DB but seems that I can't find it. Would you suggest to re-install EWA completely? If yes, can I back my data and re-import back in the new installation?
Thanks for your help!

Edited by: Anisa Schardl on 11/01/2010 21:18:00 I've been using this program for a couple weeks, and it's great. Having a problem though. It was working fine for a while, but now when I hit "Retrieve Data from Eve API" (so I can review the corp wallet and journal records), it gives me :
Run-time error '6' Overflow
Haven't been able to figure out what's going on there. I tried going into database maintenance and clearing out the old entries, didn't work. Anyone have a similar problem and can shed some light? I skimmed through the thread but didn't see anything (I could have missed it).
I used 'check for updates' which said it would fix the journal overflow error, but I'm still getting it.

Not sure if this was meant for me or for poster after me but just in case I checked "?" and it's version 1.3.8. Check updates tells me that I need to update db which crashes my EWA completely.
Can I install DB manually or do I need a full install again? (btw this might help - Assets and Market Orders were always greyed out for me - full api key utilised)

Uuh, I missed your posting completely. Sorry for that.
Quote:

Together with the above and your mention of Assets and Market Orders disabled, it seems like your EWA version and DB version are quite out of sync.
BTW, Assets and Markets disabled has nothing to do with your API key at all. It's simply a safety mechanism of EWA -> Tables not present in the DB? Disable those options.
I see from your first posting that you didn't update the DB before. You really should do this, if there's a new DB update. Otherwise you either miss new items from CCP (new ships, modules, systems, stations etc.) or features of EWA. Sometimes existing database tables need to be expanded with new columns, to allow for certain new features, like estimating taxes with the new release.

There are a couple of possibilities. I suggest you send me an (oog) email (see EWA's website for my email address). I'm sure we can figure out a way to preserve your existing data.

As mentioned elsewhere, I've started to write a manual for EWA. It's not complete yet, but I thought I release it anyhow, because what is available already should help first time EWA users getting started.
The manual has also lots of screen shots. This might help you in deciding, if EWA is something you wish to try out/use, without the need to install it first.
English is not my native language, so I'd be grateful for any error you could point out. I'd also welcome any suggestion for better explanations/formulations.

I just started putting this through its paces today, and I am impressed so far. Very nice product.
It doesn't have all the extra stuff I don't use as a trader (Like EMMA or EVE HQ), and is very straight forward.
Thanks for your work on this. =] --------------------------------------------

Just been linked to this program after asking for some advice in MD forum.
It is exactly what i was looking for, and without all the extra fluff that alot of other programs contain that i would never use.
Thanks very much for sharing this.

Installed about 3 weeks to test and worked fine for about 1 week. Started getting the overflow error and just closed program and re-opened and seemed to work until I could find time to solve the problem. Uninstalled and re-installed latest version and when going to add characters the error message "EVE API Error, 201 Char does not belong to account" appeared. Except that it does belong to the account. Used full API to find characters, which do show up in the "Characters" screen, but cannot save as default on the same screen. So 0 wallet transactions show up. Any ideas would be appreciated in advance.

Make sure you mark the account as default (and save it that way), before you try to retrieve characters for that account. This is necessary even if you create only one EWA account. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Hi, love the program I've been using it for 6 months now (database is 150mb) thanks for all the work Hel O'Ween .
Here's a few suggestions for future updates...
- Not have to select account before selecting character everytime you switch between characters (keep whatever account in dropdown that is active current the whole time).
- Automatic setting to update all characters.
- Automatic setting to transfer data to one character. I trade using multiple characters then transfer all the information to one character for analysis. I have to do this after every update, so it would save time if I could optionally automate it.
- Some pretty graphs ( )for wallet weekly profits and losses over time.

Hi Onyx,
thanks for your suggestions.

[...] (database is 150mb)
The database "spiked" when I added the Assets feature to EWA, because I had to include another table (mapDenormalize) from CCP's database dump in order to figure out the location of assets. That table added a bit less than 100MB to the database.
Quote:

I'm not sure I ever will be able to figure out how I implemented that back in the days.
Quote:
- Automatic setting to update all characters.
I'm toying around with another idea, which would result in a similar outcome: An auto-downloader. Basically, this will be a seperate application, which you could run indepent from EWA. It would constantly watch the downloaded cache files for the accounts/chars you configured it to watch and download new API data as soon as the cache expires.
I refrain from letting you update all chars at once from within EWA, because it would take a long time. In theory, such a thing is the ideal candidate for threading, but unfortunatly MS decided to cripple VB6 when it comes to threading. There are ways around that, but a separate app seems to be the better (=cleaner) solution to me.
Quote:

Again, I wouldn't do that, but have a new feature in mind, which would must likely solve your problem: letting the user create a "virtual character". You than assign existing chars to that virtual character, making him the "sum" of those characters.
Quote:

I've already added basic charting (see the beta release some posts above) in my dev built. Once it is released (and the charting component is part of EWA's regular distribution), I'll add more chart types/options to EWA.
Don't ask me for a release date for any of the above. And I can't tell if all of these things will make it into the next release or just a part of it. But they're all part of my drawing book. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |
