The point is that the money spent for Ambulation may not have been spent otherwise. ROI will likely be higher for Ambulation as it's a far more visible expansion of the game. You may not like it, but ambulation is likely to broaden the potential subscriber base more than lag fixes or some of the other eve-centric suggestions put forward here.

I'm looking forward to it, but you have to remember that a lot of people would prefer EVE if it had no graphics at all. I spend a lot of time docked in stations, and I enjoy the non-spaceship aspects of the game. I pay to play as well - you're not the only ones - and I am quite happy for that money to go towards building ambulation. I'm a paying customer, and I want ambulation. Don't presume to speak on my behalf.

They just happen to be so nice as to be adding it into eve so we get the benefit too. CCP are nolonger just the company that makes eve, they're the company that makes eve, and world of darkness. Alot of whitewolfs money will be going into this too which we wouldn't have had without the merger, and without them making WOD we wouldn't have had the merger either. They've allready got teams working on everything so the staff working on this would literally be twiddling their thumbs in the dole office.

When you are in the station post-ambulation, you'll be on different node than those who are flying outside, so less people on the node. This would move all the day traders who just sit in the Jita station to another node.

However, this is a business, and to compete with other games in it's class that have or are coming out, it would be an added nothc on the belt for them to offer to new and existing members to make sure they keep their numbers. Yes this is a internet spaceships game, but there are some players that do, do some poker things for isk, there are players that role play in-game, and some other characteristics that this would benefit. With that, I do believe that CCP even said, with this implementation, that it wouldn't TAKE AWAY from the what EvE is all about, it would just be some more dimensions for players that find these things interesting. I for one, think it's a decent idea, as long as it stays only an optional, non-essential gameplay aspect that doesn't lag the rest of the game, because there is enough of that at times already. So if it brings more players, and/or keeps more people interested, being a business, I think they should do it. Seriously, CCP is a business, and business like to make money. Not just pleasing one narrow-minded group of people. If it can be done without creating more lag and isn't mandatory then what the hell can it hurt?
