I am having problems encoding my video.
Istart encoding and everything goes fine till i get to a certain percent which is all ways the same about 14% or 13% when i get to this percent i get a standard error report saying it need to end the process etc. This point also apears to be a new fraps file when it crashes. Once the program has shut its self down it is possible to watch the encoded video up to the part it crashed at and looks perfect.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?
I am using Sony Vegas 8.0 pro version if this helps.

My guess is that you have a bad Fraps file/frame or audio track, which is halting the encoding.
It may depend on whether you doing a form of compression or not, WMV etc, or simply doing an uncompressed AVI export - my own experience tells me that when attempting compression, even into lagarith/huffy etc, corrupt frames/files can give this error message - but when uncompressed exports are done, there are less chances of it occurring. Even at 1280x1024, you are asking Vegas to compress/convert over 1 million pixels per frame, and synch audio data to it - any glitches and this process stops dead in its tracks.
But it's just a guess...

Convert the original Fraps to Lagarith first and then use the Lagarith clips in Vegas.
Should solve it.

I have installed the lagarith file but being a complete video nub i can't seem to find anyway to convert the video file, can i do this in vegas or do i need another program as well?

I use TMPGEnc, easy batch conversion tool.
