Was wondering if anyone had any more info on the supposed White Wolf/CCP effort to make a pen and paper RPG system for Eve.
All i can seem to find on it is the original news article from '06, so hoping it's still happening and they're just keeping tight lipped about it, though it's starting to bother me.

though a pen may be mightier than the sword, id like to see a pen lob a cruise missile with a thermo nuclear warhead at you from 250km away

Well not to sound pedantic, but i'd like to see a sword lob a cruise missile with a thermo nuclear warhead at you from 250km away too!

You're just not using the right kind of sword.
Seriously though, would the kind of mechanics used in EVE for combat even be viable in pen and paper?

Well it'd be out-of-pod stuff i'm guessing, just based on characters in the Eve universe and not neccessarily pod pilots.
Though the storyteller/GM type person being a pod pilot would make a lot of sense.
Just imagine: a group of gamers annoyance at the captain they keep trying to get killed coming back, time and again!

Sums it up pretty well, though (as you can tell) trolling requires much less SP.

well, there were some ship based pen and papers out there. gurps had one, rifts had one, there was spelljammer ( )...
and knowing whitewolf it would be all their d10 pool crap, add a dice per gun or whatever, * size of gun
so a mael could roll like 30 dice.
