I'm currently running two accounts, one being my combat setup using the classic Drake with it's amazing sheilds and the other I had geared for using in a hauling career but I've recently decided I would like to enjoy the Minmatar style of combat as well as my Drake.
So basically I have two questions:
1. Which Minmatar ship is best for PvE using long range and isn't going to take me forever to use and fit (assume this char only has up to Minmatar Frigate)?
2. Which Minmatar ship is best for PvE using hit and runs with Autocannons and isn't going to take me forever to use and fit (assume this char only has up to Minmatar Frigate)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fly Safe. :D

within 2 days you should be able to fit a rifter with 3 200mm autocannons, a missle launcher, 1mn ab, shield booster and something resembling armor with room for other stuff. been ratting happily @3days old. EVEMON over on Battleclinic has some nice setups.

Yeah the Rifter is deffiently powerful. I've been training for the top rated Battleclinic setup alrdy. :D
Guess I should have been more specific. Probably looking for Cruiser and up so that I can bring along both my Chars when my corp runs level 4's.
Thanks Drago :D

Edited by: Commander Vic on 24/07/2008 21:10:03 1) Hurricane with 650/720mm artillery and heavy missiles(fit as able), passive shield tank works well here, no AB required for mission running
2) Hurricane with 220mm AC, afterburner and heavy missiles or heavy assault missiles or assault launchers and standard missiles, etc. tank as desired leaving enough cap for the afterburner to get you within range.
Of course there are some better ships for specific circumstances but a properly tanked 'cane with the right skills can solo level 4's and doesn't take a whole lot of time to get into in the first place, probably as much time to train for as it takes to get access to level 3 agents.

The AB on an Arty Hurricane will get you going over 400m/sec, keeping your damage way down.
Fit for armor tank and you'll find a ship to rival your Drake.

...or you can just reroll Amarr like everyone else seems to be doing

Thanks a lot. I was actually just crusing through stuff and saw the Hurricane as an option but cruising the forums not many people were hailing the 'Cane as a beastly ship.
A Passive sheild tanking ship if I can indeed get the 'cane to do just that will go great with my Drake.
Thanks a lot Vic and Ghengis.

With the new speed nerf, reroll and forget being a minmatar pilot. The race is about to be nerfed by CCP with speed and web reductions.

Don't count on it. Minmatar ships still have superior speed and with 50%-60% webs, might actually be able to maneuver in close combat now. As a blasterboat pilot, I'm a little concerned about what enemy maneuver speeds will be now.
Right now a minmatar ship under 10km has no speed to speak of.
