Just recently got myself an excellent hauler spawn down here in a 0.0 regular belt.
25 mill units of trit
1.4 mill units of mex
32,500 units of zydrine
Good solid 200 mill payday.
Was just curious what other peoples best was.

300 mil, a .6 belt rat ( Serp Velator \ Hauler ) dropped a one of those ice mining upgrades before CCP had correctly added them and had them working.
Some Dutch corp brought it off contracts.
Funny thing is, ever since, I have never seen a single one. :(

I can't remember the other minerals in the other cans, but I do remember the 65000 Zydrine :P

I got one in 0.3 a couple of months ago, 2 haulers full of trit.

I got a hauler spawn in a 0.7 system when I was mining in a mission deadspace some time ago. Only two haulers with 25k trit each though.

it seems im very unlucky when it comes to hauler/faction spawns 
i only got 1 hauler spawn that only had 6mil trit and 3mil pyerite
as for faction spawns (out of topic) i only ever had one,the same day with that hauler spawn and got a low grade cystal beta implant that sold for 25mil :(

Implant drop is really not a bad faction spawn. Out of the 5 I've gotten only 1 really beat that, dropping a low grade slave, med battery bpc and a pds. 3 times all I got was a bit of faction ammo and a tag ><

You think that's bad I got 5 Domination wrecks (2 BS 1 BC and 2 cruisers)in a span of 3 days. Nothing but faction ammo and some crappy tags. I guess it was good luck to get that many but crappy luck to get nothing out of them. Not even top named gear...
Oh and 3 out of the 5 wrecks had nothing to salvage after I spent like 20 mins trying to salvage them. 
Lame...........

Are hauler spawns just luck-based? I've only gotten one so far.

triple 25million trit, all with a upgrade of some kind. the upgrades were rather crap though, and I did leave the trit just floating in space.

I think they happen more often in lower truesec. Also, you get larger ones in lower truesec. One of the systems I rat in can drop 2-3 in a day of ratting (enough to full a couple CHAs)

No, those are NPC's ferrying trade goods between stations.
A while back a guy posted the results of shooting a ton of them belonging to various corporations. They had, at one time, dropped some good stuff but now it's just water and tobacco and other "trade" stuffs.
The spawns they're talking about are literally haulers spawned in asteroid belts.

we had one in the deadspace pocket we were mining, except it only had 25k trit inside  . Odd thing was it was hard to kill, kept popping around. I'd have it locked then its 50 km away another direction.
