The upcoming patch brings really serious chages to combat, some parts of it have been nearly redefined.
Maybe they will be great and i really hope so.I just prey CCP really sees the seriousness of these changes.IMHO Castor was little thing compared to this.
As i said i hope Eve wil be even beter after this patch , but i am quite surprised and uncertain, imho combat needed only small tweaks, and now we will get this new thing.
Anyway I keep my fingers crossed

I'm personally loving all these changes, and I think they will seriously improve EVEs combat system, but more is still needed.
One thing that this will certainly do is have people relearning their tactics and setups. Maybe not that big a deal for new people but it should make things a bit more interesting again for the vets. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

I agree with the implied intent of Earthan, I'm personaly all for these balance changes, but CCP had better have some fire insurance handy, because these boards are going to light up like a tank of gas at a pyromaniacs convention if even one thing is even just a bit screwed up.
Case and point: Missiles (according to the last DEv blog I saw on the subject, I might have missed something more recent), will not be getting a physics change right away. Thus one could imagine they may seriously suck and miss a LOT. OR they may somehow turn out better for it.
The missile loving crowd is by far the most vocal group who have been/still are against this planned change, and I can understand how they would feel if they seem vindicated.
The sad part is, CCP just might not get around to putting in the proper missile physics right away, so instead of informed players, being angry, but understanding, they will understandably flame and whine and kvetch about how CCP broke something that wasn't broken in thier humble opinion.
Asside from the more obvious sources of somewhat understandable grief and misery from this patch, we'll have the usual assortment of lamers, retards, whiners, griefers, trolls, smack talkers, CCP bashers and I'm quitting threads that we have always had.
I would reccomend that anyone who wants to stay sane stay away from the forums for a few days to a few weeks after this upcoming patch.
Also the criminal flagging thing I think will be quite a shock to some people if it does indeed come in with this next patch... I'm sure a mountain of exploits will be found within hours of it coming out, and somehow CCP will magically be in the dark about them for months... I know that sounds like passive agression, and maybe to a degree it is, but hey, I'm a "glass is half empty" kinda guy sometimes heheh.
Overal though I am looking forward to this balance patch... If it does what it seems to intned to do, combat might be a little less bizare than it often can be now, and average players not flying missile boats will potentialy find more use in combat again.
Anyway We'll see... I agree, I hope CCP knows what it's doing with this patch, I think it was needed... but oh boy... From what some friends who test on chaos tell me, Combat is VERY different (and most suggest it's more fun). I keep meaning to try it out... damn I'm lazy.

Question: I heard that the cruise missiles on Chaos are still not nerfed in regards to agility (but still boosted in speed) thus flying a frig is completly useless. Is this correct (I am at work and can't check myself)?
Just because something is fixed doesn't mean you can't break it

this patch will balance frigates. I mean was it fair thata kestrel can take out two other frigates in a single volley ? (cruise missiles)

If you had ever been in any actual PvP frigate combat, you'd know how ridiculous this statement is.
