Lt Leroy, Garax, Delaware... are the only names I can think of off the top of my head. :)
I won't say we won, nor will I say -A- won. It was a damn good fight, and you forum warriors can decide who won at your own time. I'd like to see more of those fights personally, though without the Titans (useless in a Capital Fight) and the support fleet (lag.)
hello Armadaus, can perhapes you provide me this 5-6 missing killmails? it look's like the most of this 16 alliancekillboards are just private
I would gladly if I had them myself, I don't. Not sure who got them, but I sat there and watched the ships blow up. :) In fact, I was bumping Garax in my dread to prevent him from warping until the HICtor got on him. :)

you can engage with either a waterpistol, or use your new ak-47. Which do you choose ?
you honestly expect us not to bring in the big guns ?
Well then expect them to bring big numbers :P. you wanta play poker tonite :P

Edited by: Apple Boy on 26/07/2008 02:55:48 damnit, had just loaded grid and was getting ready to use the salvager on my carrier when foundation started attacking a wodka POS and I had to run. People just don't learn -_-
anyway, foundation -1 thanatos and a couple of battleships to 3 gunners. the rest of their fleet ran once the thanatos died.
oh, and the sin is still an awesome ship, was able to get all the recons past the gate camps undetected and without dying

Well, you're absolutely right. And it's a two-way street. Somebody nailed it earlier: CCP has set up a system that almost requires slugfests involving hundreds of ships...without providing the server horsepower to actually engage in such fights. It's a pretty bizarre situation curreintly: the lag caused by an in-place defensive fleet of approaching 200 with bubbles up etc has to be taken into account by an attacking force as a factor in the outcome such that it becomes necessary to bring MORE ships knowing you're going to lose a lot just having to jump into an already laggy situation...it's a downward spiral. Then factor in the necessity of bringing enough conventionals to be able to soak up multiple Doomsday devices and still have ships left over...
Lag begets more lag, available defensive tactics demand greater numbers of the attacking force, which drives lag even higher. In the end nobody's happy and everybody's just making excuses, win or lose.

I had fun, lag or not. At one point my little covert ops Buzzard was uncloaked, when my modules said I was cloaked ... but, still fun for me. It took about 5 minutes to warp anywhere and even 10 minute probes timed out before the scan could activate and get results.
I've never seen so many caps in a fight ever in my life, and so many dreads and carriers and expensive ships get blown up ever. Watched the battles from 100-200km range, lots of yellow wrecks worth billions and not as many CVA white one's. I saw blues hold the field, saw reds warp off, saw gate bubbles get exploded, a POS blown up and lots more I can't talk about because its top secret. I took pictures of everything and gave them to my commanders.
I lost a ship 3 hours before the fight as I lag bumped into a POS shield trying to escape an enemy Sabre getting close to me and managed to reship and get back into Sv5 from HED/Keberz through a cascade of gate camps to provide fleets with warp in's. My bookmarks in SV5 are like ALL my 22-inch monitor now, top to bottom. I saw more people in the system than Jita generally has on a weekend.
There were also famous forums people in the fleet like AppleBoy. Ohh, I also Got to see Evil Thug ask in local if we were gonna 'bring it' ... and we did. I saw Hardin, too, and he is cute. ET's mug is kinda scary compared to Hardin's.
All in all, an epic day and I learned a lot.
o/ to the combatants and compadres, allies and to wonderful FCs and brave pilots.
... Oh, and stop warping to covert ops at 0!! Thanks!

What can i say, watching the fight from the kboards was indeed a refreshing experience (lol) and the black screensaver (courtesy of CCP) can be acounted as EXTREME PVP experience.
Mad props for both sides.
PS: next time i'll tackle karmic , it's a promise.

Hm... I'm a bit perplexed if this is what CCP thinks is how top alliances are supposed to fight for territory.
Looking at "Character Selection - Entering game with Katrina Bekers" for freaking FIFTYTWO minutes is their idea of "playing" the game?
Any clue, Hardin? In Reykjavik they acknowledged that the "endgame" should be a tad more supported by their hardware and software setup?
Anyway.
GF to AAA for their brave and honorable fighting.
And for their continuous prodding of all their neighbors, in a monumental effort to piss off everyone at once. Without your awesome "we're tuffer then ya - look at our titans!" attitude, you ultimately managed to assemble a formidable counter-attacking fleet, the only chance to uproot your entrenched territorial advantage.
I'm not being sarcastic, even if it was a dirty pleasure to salvage your dreadnoughts. My hat is sincerely off for you, who stubbornly kept making enemies left and right, but had the guts to whitstand them, when they brought to the party the friends of their friends, to remind you that EVE is not only a game of pewpew, but also a diplomatic warfare sandbox. --- Kate [HKG, PXF] "The game with voices, that you can't win, nor finish." |

So...
AAA bring 6 titans. IAC bring numbers.
AAA, you look like a bunch of whiners when you complain about numbers. Seriously. You had grid loaded, bubbles in position, 6 titans in the area etc...
Just do what some of your players are...accept that you didn't beat the providence group hands down for once and move on...prepare for next time. It was a close fight, be graceful...even when you don't win (even if you didn't lose convinsingly). //Desiree Proud Member of ForumPost'r'Us |

What happend is you pay 30 euro for this game.30euro is 50 dollars.
You train for 8 months cap ships ,you train your cyno dude ,then you need to buy a capship ,you work your assoff for it. Then you lose your capship with all fittings before even the grid is loaded.
CCP is the winner.
That people still take this crap.Who is stupid here?

I was one of the "campers". Maximum 5 hostiles in overview while more than a 100 jumped in. 7 minutes to lock a target. 17 minutes to reload guns. 2 killed drakes ! Woot!!!
We all should blame nano***s that fly faster than ccp expected. Only they are ruining this game. Right CCP ? :)

To those that are complaining about the numbers and bringing allies: fighting a war is just what it says - fighting. You make every effort to win, by having your diplomacy (allies) and industry (numbers) shine!
If you want to do a fair fight, that's tournament or olympics
All in all, a fun fight, even if it ended 3 am for me. Thanks to all involved

Don't ask my why but I was lucky this time. Grid loaded all enemy Dreads after about thirty seconds, one minute of module lag throughout the fight :D Must have had a priority line to the server :P
As such I can honestly say it was fun although I had no idea if we are actually winning or loosing for most of the fight. As we got the spoils of war to help the poor sods who lost ships before loading grid I am happy enough.

Paxton Federation would like to thank all of the friends and allies who came to help in this operation.
Unfortunately the Tower under attack was lost but a number of other objectives that had been set for the operation were achieved.
Your courage and commitment allowed the allied fleet to inflict significant damage and hold the field.
Thank You

In the near future it will be "imperative" to sat aside all our disputes and work together for a common goal. Needless to say we have a bigger threat on the horizon and fighting each others is a waste of time, nerves and useful assets.
Therefor i ask you to give a real thought to what will come above us in the near future and solve the disputes peacefuly in order to prepare and counter the impending threats.
I hearby ask you to join under the "United Federation Forces" flag to vanquish any common threats that arises and assure a prosper and healty enviroment for our own space.
Further documents will be made available for all alliances that are in discussion. Those documents will set up a frame for solving current teritorial disputes and future goals.
All alliances that took part in the Battle of SV5 are respectfuly requested to join the discussion table for a peaceful solution and give a final resolution on the past disputes. After this objective is succesfuly achived the involved parts will discuss further on the creation of "United Federation Forces" and also its rules and directives, that being the fundamental brick in the construction, development and defence of the future enviroment that engulfs the current regions in dispute.
