I've seen "This space for rent" too many times now. It's time for CONCORD to open up these screens to the public. A simple image and a bundle of ISK per day/week/month/billboard should do the trick.
AND AS A BONUS: Alliances bording on billboarded space (dunno where that line is drawn) could buy themselves a spot to say "You are entering <enter alliance name here> space, beware!" or such.

buildable billboards  but you'd have to pay rent for them. This rent would have to be pretty high so every jumpgate isn't massively filled with these boards.

But we can use the billboards already. I've flown then countless times...!
Err, on a more serious note, advertisement space bought by ISK would be really nice. You'd pay different prices for advertising in just one system than you would pay for constellations, regions and whole star cluster adds.

agreed. paying by Region and Constellation would be an awesome way for Alliances to stake out their territory.
and people would look at the blasted things for once. i ignore them as it is. |

Make it player auctioned.
ie - players compete for the right to put up adds on a certain billboard for a period (day/week) - and as soon as its up, the next round of auctions starts for the next slot.

Yes nice idea... You could pay for local message in your system or region wide ones.

This is coming, and it was put up on the list
and if u look in the last few CSM's your find the devs taking about this. i cant remember which 1
but yes this would be very cool, and even better then they introduce branded items
advertise your own brand

It would also stop people jettisoning cargo containers with "so and so recruiting now" on, or would people do that anyway, to cover up the billboards?
