I'm not from the UK myself, although I went to Fanfest last year. I absolutely, positively recommend going if you have the time and money. My experience in Iceland was overwhelmingly positive (if expensive.) It was so positive in fact that I am currently considering doing my anthropology Ph.D thesis research there on the Icelandic belief in the Huldu (I'm currently doing my master's thesis research on the Irish belief or lack thereof in Fairies, which are in some ways quite similar to Huldu, if you care to know.)
So anyway consider this my ringing endorsement of Eve fanfest.

hehe if you're gonna call someone a liar it might be best to interrogate them with a question that they can't answer by searching the internet for 30 seconds. According to the website of the game "Eve-Online", Fanfest opened at 1400 on the first day.
What else you people got? What was included in the pod special at the catering table? What did the Goon rep at the alliance panel interject into the long-winded "question" someone posed about booster production? How did the Amarr roleplayer rep respond to the "child molesting slave trader" inquiry? How was Zulupark received when he was introduced at Eris's PvP lecture?

WTF....did I read this right?
"I'm currently doing my master's thesis research on the Irish belief or lack thereof in Fairies"
LMFAO this is just fantastic, I can't stop laughing.
Good luck with the Masters, it's so good that your putting it to good use and not just wasting life.
I've heard it all now. Just as a matter of interest, what University endorses a thesis about Fairies?
