*SNIP*
The surest way to prevent portrait hopping is to have a 5 line bit of code somewhere that only allows you to do it every X months

I can understand 40 euros for character transfer or name change maybe, but for a portrait change!? 15 euros most!

Well I think one learns - especially from EVE market prices that when a price is too high, the item or service generally is simply not used very much at all and the profits are at an all time low. However when the price is lowered to what may be considered a 'reasonable' sum, the total amount of people buying the item or using the service increases to a level that the profit far exceeds the higher fee that is used much more rarely. You'd think CCP would realise this not just from simple economics but from lessons to be learned from their ingame market :)
No matter, I predict the price will drop to something like 15 Euros as someone mentioned above hopefully. Otherwise I simply cannot use it - because its simply way too expensive for what it does. -----

I feel sorry for all those people with the now convenient for CCP Avatar bug that makes them darken. Shelling out $40 to change your picture is ridiculous.

Probably a stupid question but if you swap your portrait for one of a different race, does your main become that race?
Make a difference

I was wondering the same thing, otherwise we'd have Gallente running around looking like Caldari

Note to self: read FAQ before asking questions!
Quote:
3. Why does gender and bloodline have to match when swapping portraits?
As bloodline and gender define a lot about your character the portraits that are going to be swapped need to have same bloodline and gender. The swapping is only meant to fix elements you are not happy about with your original portrait creation, it is not meant for gender and ancestry changes.

Funny you should mention this as I was just pondering about changing appearance to Caldari if CCP renounces its mad and greedy idea

Thank you, Amin. By the way, they've removed the feature from Account Management now. Guess they realized what an outcry it caused... hopefully they will come to their senses!
