Hi, um would a moderator mind un-locking a thread? or moving it to some more logical location?

Turns out the OP indeed went ahead and war-dec'ed an alliance...

Now my horribly suspicious mind can think of about 3 or 4 scenarios where this would be a useful way to war dec someone. which leads to a question: can a corp war dec someone then join an alliance so that the alliance he joins can avoid the multiple war-dec fees?
Possibility #2 is that right as the war starts sufficient combat pilots would join the corp in order to go after high sec assets.
Possibility #3 is: This guy can't tell the diff between an alliance and a corporation... if this is the case... Noos, dude, check your wallet.... you just war-dec'ed an alliance from a 2 man noob corp.
So, any bookies want to make odds? Sneaky way to war dec and make the target leave assets vulnerable to attack or noob move?
It'll be amusing to find out either way....

It's not an uncommon tactic to use an alt corp to dec someone, then have everyone join/join an alliance once the dec goes into effect - keeps the target from gathering intel about the attacker/knowing the size of the incoming attack.
As to whether or not this is an accepted mechanic, I have no idea - but it's a commonly used one.

As for the thread being unlocked - Good Luck. In the future recommend using the petition system to have it unlocked.
As for War-Decs and corps joining alliances. This is not uncommon. Some corps join an alliance to avoid the war-dec and others join to increase their strength. I don't like the idea of using it to avoid but I do like the idea to increase strength.

Joining an alliance doesn't get a corp out of a wardec - it just gets the alliance into one. Joining then leaving an alliance to avoid a wardec is an exploit, and CCP will take action against it. If you have a wardec against a corp that does this - petition it.
