Jacqueline Coeur	Posted - 2008.07.29 14:53:00 - [9] I do not know what's wrong with the seller. He was supposed to move the character out of the corporation and into hisec then transfer it. He first told me he needed to wait for a roommate to come back home. Then the roommate was sleeping and we needed to wait for him to wakeup. He sent me my isks back and also gave me a bunch of skillbooks (regular hisec NPC seeds), sort of compensation. We agreed to meet online last night around 2am server time. I was ok with that (after all, that would be just a few ours more than the required 24h after my offer). Well, I have been online since about midnignt server time and for at least five ours after that, but he never showed up. Now, after almost 40 ours from the first offer, I see the character is STILL in a corporation, therefore he would not be able to transfer for another day. Does the OP actually want to sell this toon or not? I can understand he waited for an offer before removing it from the corp. But I do not understand why the hell he has not left the corp yet. Here's my statement about the situation: -) I'm still interested in Pak Seongsu. But he must be able to transfer the character before I give the isks to him again. And by game mechanics he must have been in a non-player corp for 24 ours before he can trasfer. So I'll only give him the money 24 ours after Pak has left ONOES, as reported by character info. -) Meanwhile I'll look around for something else. Because my buyout offer is only valid if he actually does want to give me the character, else my money will be down for some other toon.

That is not what I can read in the sticky threads and in other threads on this forum. Granted the sticky also says I wouldn't be able to use the character till past one DT, while some players do report being able to play it immediatelly. CCP is known to be fuzzy on many details. And they even change them without notice sometimes. Earlier (17:20 server time) I convoed you. You opened the convo, but then you have been totally AFK for over an our. As I've written in that convo and also in an eve-mail, if you really believe you can do the character transfer before 24h have passed AND are ready to do it (like roommate is awake or whatever) then I will transfer you the isks again and we can close this deal. Of course if it turns out you do not manage to do the transfer, you are promising to give me the isks back. I'll try to contact you again ingame within some minutes of this post.
Brooks Puuntai Minmatar	Posted - 2008.07.29 21:21:00 - [12] He doesnt have to be in a NPC corp for 24 hours.. Just has to be in one.. The 24 hours comes from if the pilots roles change within the corp it can take 24 hours to leave the corp after roles are dropped... Hope that helped.

If that's the case then there's been a misunderstanding as I've seen several references of a 24h timer after the corp has been left. So, my bad actually. However it's not a problem. I already wrote that I'm still interested in the character. I also specified I'm actually willing to close the deal before the 24h have passed (retreating my previous position) as it seems it may be actually possible. I had already transferred the isks. He "forgot" to remove the char from corp and get rid of valuable assets, and he offered to return them. I sayd no, keep them, do what you need ASAP then do the transfer. This was the first delay. At second delay he actually gave them back to me (and also gave the skillbooks, as I acknowledged already). At third appointment he was not there for IRL issues (he explained them ingame). I'm currently waiting for him to tell me that everything is ready and he can do the transfer. ETA according to him is about 2h. I'd like to make one thing clear: I do not feel, and never intended to imply, that he's trying to scam me. He is only a little bit disorganized. For what I can understand the big problem is that he does not own a personal credit card and must rely on either one of two possible "lenders" to be present and awake at the time of the transaction. And somehow he manages to be unavailable when they are and vice versa. Of course from my point of view I would have liked to have the character when I was ready with the isks. But I can forgive the delays, as long as he tries his best to bring this deal to a conclusion.

It took longer than I hoped, but no problem with a character that has just got out of a corp. Pak Seongsu has been received and I could log in to him immediatelly (no need for a downtime, no matter what the stickies say). And as I already mentioned: not a scam. Just a problem in organizing RL stuff like roommates and credit cards. So, people, you can call OP "young" but not "scammer". He actually sounds like a nice pal (and we had some long convos )
