I've been testing numerous setups on the Taranis and was just curious to see what others have found to be good.

3xlight ion blasters 1xsmall smartbomb mwd, webbie and a warp scrambler micro aux power core, cap power relay.
nah just kidding I've never flown a taranis I'm just bored. Was I at least right about the slot layout? __________ Capacitor research |

3x (named) light neutron blasters, 1x micro smartbomb mwd, webifier, warp scrambler micro aux power core, 2x power diagnostic
You have to go easy on the cap though, you can do alot with this setup but not all at once.

this is the first setup I tried (minus the nos because they dont work right yet, but they are supposedly going to be fixed next patch):
2x Modal Light Neutron Particle Accelerator I 1x Modal Light Ion Particle Accelerator I 1x Small Nosferatu (once they are fixed)
1x Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet 1x Cold-Gas Arcjet Thrusters 1x Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor
1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II 2x Auxillary Power Core
It worked extremely well for catching up to the target to get it webbed (I do ~4750m/s with the mwd and ab) and i could kill any frig b4 my cap died (rifter took 11-12 seconds from the time i turned on my guns) but against larger targets the cap drained way too fast, so I've decided to test this out:
2x Modal Light Neutron Particle Accelerator I 1x Modal Light Ion Particle Accelerator I
1x Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet 1x Small Capacitor Booster (w/3x 100 charges) 1x Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor
1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II 1x Overdrive Injector I 1x Auxillary Power Core
Main reason for not putting in a SB is that these are mainly in anticipation of the patch coming out, when trying to use a sb against lights and rockets really isnt going to be viable.
btw here's a little somethin' somethin' from a fight earlier today :
[ 2004.05.27 17:17:24 ] (combat) Your Modal Light Ion Particle Accelerator I perfectly strikes madnut [D.U.I], wrecking for 218.5 damage.

Missed one lowslot... FYI that's pretty much my setup, just with one more cap relay and named items. Never lost against a cruiser/interceptor although I have had to run multiple times from cruisers, especially when they're packing webs or drones

So you favor light ion blasters to. IMO it is a bit foolish running 3 neutron, you have to sacrifice more low slots for grid and they use more power than light. I guess a mixture of light and neutrons would work though. Nice slot layout on the taranis though, I must get me one of those. __________ Capacitor research |

Nope, CA doesn't seem to use many interceptors at all, and the ones I've seen are all stiletto/claw/ares/crow.
Why, wanna know how it works or are you trying to say I'd get owned?

Syndicate, OR and CR rats and enemies as well. Crow, Ares, Claw and stiletto in order of popularity judged by sightings / encounters.

Crow is only popular because it can shoot 3 cruise missiles. Which is great if you tend to kill your pray in one volley but I think if the crow needs to reload Taranis will outdamage Crow by far if using blasters. __________ Capacitor research |

anyone tried fitting the following: ?
3x light ions MWD, Web, small cap battery. make it fit with lows. _______________________________________________

Won't be shooting cruise missiles after the next bout of balancing. :P

I'll be able to fly the Taranis tonight. Maybe I'll leave Xetic to come play with Celest for a bit =).

I'm using a pretty standard setup:
3x Light Ions MWD, Scrambler, Webber 1x Micro Aux 1x 200mm Nanofiber 1x Cap Relay
Not used it for real frigate fights yet, although after cruise are taken from frigs I plan to. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

Good luck - I've been offering 2m for nearly a month now, and I've gotten a grand total of 2 sold to me. I've taken to chaining serpentis frigates, 5k-10k drop named light ions. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

Same here, though it seems ion modals are really rare... Tier 3 ones are a bit more common (doh).
Strange though since I seem to get _alot_ more modal neutrons from 10k+ frigs. -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs
