I have a quick question -- when finding plexes now, it lists the name, but not the rating? I wonder where people are finding the rating. --

What is a Plex Rating and why does it matter? Just run the Plex and have some fun. ________________________

Edited by: Tamoko on 29/07/2008 02:24:05 I think he means the DED rating.
King, to understand this, it takes a bit of history. When CCP released the rich exploration content with revelations, they took the static DED plexes and made them hidden and spawnable. But, they also tacked on a whole bunch of very common encounters which, for all intents and purposes are basically a mission without objectives. Warp in, kill shit dead, end of story. The large part of unknowns you hit will be these encounters. They don't greet you with a DED rating when you warp in, they don't drop overseer's personal effects, but they are capable of escalating and spawning commanders (faction ships).

right -- I guess what I was looking for was a mapping to plex ratings in the old way 10/10.. etc.. Grismar has some basic views, but they don't map..
thanks, --

I do have a clarifying question - DED Report is NOT static - it's what has been found? correct?
What is the purpose of this report? --

the plexes that have ratings (ie 8/10, 10/10 whatnot) are still around. but in order to find them, you must use exploration probes. you must then search for signatures, not anomalies. when an unknown pops up, you use the appropriate probes to find said site. there is a guide on this but I don't have a link for it. anyways that should help out a little i hope.

Unknown signatures (non-DED) still have a rating of sorts I guess, the lower the signal strength the better I guess, and the tougher to pin down. The names also indicate it... a serpentis base is weaker than a serpentis headquarters etc. Base 1-4.
