Ok, ive been a playing for a good while now i have still haven't got a clue how missile damage works. Lets assume my target is 20 km out from me and completely stationary (stupid pilot is afk), i've decided to equip a Tunderbolt Heavy Missile from my Advanced Limos Heavy Launcher (in b4 Arbalest). So how on earth does the system decide the damage i do?
So far i've picked up that certain missiles do more damaghe to sheilding armour etc than other and that each has a resistance it keys to like Explosive, Electromagnetic, Thermal and Kinetic.
My Thunderbolt Heavy has 150 EM damage (plus?) 150 base sheild damage, so does that mean if the ship im firing at had zero EM res then i could potentially do 300 damage?
My main reason for asking this is my confusion afer taking a Thunderbolt Heavy from a missile sentry and had it deal a grand total of 395 anus-tearing damage.

HELP ME
Ignore base shield and armour damage its basicly worthless info...
a thunderbolt without skills hitting a stationary ship larger than its explosion radius with no resistances will deal 150 damage - hope that helped :D

The thunderbolt have 150 EM damage damage as basic.
If u have skills + BCU's + shipbonus to damage(what is by caldari just for kin mostly), the damage of your thunderbolt would be:
150+skills+BCU+shipbonus+rigs......
Let say a hypotetical nuber of 350 damage/missile
Now if the target ships is not moving so your missile explosion velocity is bigger than the speed of the target so u would not loose damage because speed.
If the targetted ships signature radius is bigger than the missiles signature radius, than u would not loose damage because smaller sig of the target.
So your missile impact with full damage. If the target ship is untanked, so have base resist, that means by t1 ships that have 0% res on shields and 50% res on armor.
That means if the ship have left shields, your missile would do 350 damage, if u hit already armor your missile would do 175 damage
