Alright you can laugh if you want. 
Me and a buddy decided for a laugh we were going to have a fight in a noob ship.
Basically the ony restrictions are the ship must be s noob ship any race. Being an ammar then naturally the Impiror comes to mind but I can fly any frigate.
So far what I came up with is a micro aux power core in the low slot a 1MN MWD in the mid slot and a pair of named 75mm railguns loaded with antimatter charge S and try and keep the fight up close.
What do you guys think?

Stick to cruisers until you have enough experience to step up to noob ships

Try a indy war with noob guns 
And I think I'd swap the mwd for either a shield booster or a tracking comp, maybe even fit a damage mod. Either way, good fun.

top drawer setup for noob frigs :)
use a minmitar reaper,
2x 200mm auto cannons,
1x tracking disruptor
1 micro aux
not sure wether this will all fit, but you use the reapers naturally faster speed to your advantage, no starter ship can use missiles so use the tracking disruptor instead, that way you shouldnt take too much damage

This has been awhile but...
Imicus (yes an Imi). Largest drone bay for frigate. Load up with like 8 lvl1 drones, sensor dampener, a shield boost and whatever hybrid and small smartbomb

I fitted out my Ibis for humous sake a couple of weeks ago.
High: 2 x 125mm Rails
Med: Civilian Shield Booster
Low: 1 Overdrive
It can happily kill anything that doesn't use missiles in 0.8-0.5

hmm, velator is what i used and if im right its can fit an mwd and some small gunny thing with an aucx power core in low.

OK Muttley is going for the most expensive noob ship ever
Low = Micro Aux Powercore
Mid = Small Shield Booster II
Hi = 2 x 125 mm Carbide Railguns loaded with Antimatter S
total cost so far about 300k isk including the shuttle i had to blow up to get a pod for the noob ship.
I could buy and kit out a Punisher for that but it wouldnt be as funny
