The Super Ultimate Eve Online Mining Tournament of Awesomeness
The thought of mining in "pvp" sounds really hilarious :>
Actually the idea is really cool and sounds like alot of fun, I wish someone would make an event like this on TQ. 
Mixing mining with combat is genius, as it adds a whole new level of tactics aswell as a clear goal for the fight

Oh no someone brought in some hulks with jammers. Oh no now there are nano Hulks. This fight is getting ugly fast. Wait what's this... someone self-destructed costing his own team the match when the last member of the opposing side was already deep into hull; must have set the destruction timer when the fight looked like it was going nowhere and then forgot to turn it off after getting the upper hand. Now back to the studio for pizza.

Actually only 5 T1 Frigs and 1 T1 Cruiser is allowed per team.
But since you have unlimited number of ships, the best thing will probably be to lock down the opponents with ecm instead of killing them while at the same time ninja mining the nearest roid.. :D

*rage* Veldspar worth the least?! I suggest Claw scrap ths idea and go on with the normal PVP tournament... or change Veldspar to worth 1.5 points!!
I hope CCP brings computers that are capable of running 5 accounts at the same time...

Why are they getting super characters? Werent all the other alliance tournies done with player characters?
I propose they should have to use their own charactesrs from tq, if for no other reason than for my knowledge that all the uber alliances are frantically training mining skills to be able to compete

My guess for the super chars is so more newby skilled players can take part without having to worry about 3+ yr old vets dominating due to higher skills (in a mining comp i can see skills being more of an issue but this takes tht issue out and relies soley on the skills of the team)

I think it look fun, i can imagine some great commentary from this.
"OMG! CHribba is mining that roid like he's on fire! Oooh. whats this?.. an enemy is trying to mine the same roid!.. Chribba doesnt look happy about this at all.. O O O whats this? 4 frigs and 1 cruiser.. Hmm, well you'd expect the cruiser to be the main miner i guess, so either a scythe or an osprey. Although wouldnt a blackbird be better and jam everyone and have navitas's mining? Ah the possibilities are endless!

1. This is not an alliance tournament, but a tournament for the participants of the FanFest ONLY. No outsiders allowed.
2. We have been getting super-chars every time, to eliminate the differences of ingame playtime aka skills trained. This makes all participants equal in terms of ingame skills and real-life skills will make the difference.
